I haven't used my e-brake in the past 12 years of Tacos.
Before that my other two Tacos had MT's and the brake made sense. Not so much with my AT.

For those of you with 3D printers, like mods and have the skills to turn out a quality product....

How about I remove the e-brake lever and you come up with a nice storage bin that will take it's place and utilize that space for change, pens, keys, dirt, dust and spilled coffee etc ?

Without your e-brake you're holding the entire weight of the truck with the transmission - specifically the parking pawl. They can break, and it's happened in the past. Still a good idea to use your e-brake.

Here's a parking pawl - not really mean to hold the truck like the e-brake does.

I worked at a place that was on a hill. A couple times a year we would help recover cars from down below who thought the e-brake wasn't needed.

Also, you never know when you hit the brakes and have no pressure. Terrible idea if this is a serious post.

Life does not always give you runaway truck ramps...keep your ebrake.

This is about as dumb as that thread a couple years back of the guy who was wanting to run no headrests, and was serious.

There has been some dumb ideas for things people to do to their trucks on this site, but this is hovering at the top of that list.

Welp my last one had 205K on it and I had only used it to excercise it to keep it from freezing up.... Good point none the less.

Change your lights, lift your truck, cut your tailpipe off, but never mess around with your brakes!

These guys beat me to it....I use my e brake every time I park. Save that parking paw, don’t put all that stress on your transmission.

Blew a wheel cylinder on an old Chevy once. The E-brake saved my ass.
