Nuno's "Clever name/TIT tle" build thread

Decided to make this after some "peer pressure" from @DoubleRGirl and @DrFunker, so here goes... Credit goes to @DrFunker for the "TIT tle".

It's a 2014 4x4 TRD Sport, DCSB, purchased brand new. Bought it in September of 2013, picked it up October of 2013 (had to wait a month for it to come in).

This is how it looked, when it came in to the dealership and the day I picked it up. Purchased from Greentree Toyota in Danbury CT.



The mod bug soon hit, after looking for a bullbar on the internet, and TW coming up as a link with info. Pic of the bullbar when it came in.



Soon after that came some minor accessories...
-TRD oil cap
-TRD radiator cap
-TRD shift knob

After doing some more "research", aka hanging around TW too much, I got the bright idea of looking for a NAV unit to replace my non NAV Entune unit. I lucked out. Posted a WTB thread, and someone saw it and sold me theirs, that they had never installed. They wanted to sell it "complete", so it came with GPS antenna, mic, all the stuff you'd need to make it work fully. It was from a 2015, brand new and never used/installed. I got it, sold all the other stuff since my truck already had it, and basically got a NAV unit for less than $100 after selling everything else (including my non NAV unit). Bought it from @Geonico




Shortly after that, let a friend from work borrow the truck to get some stuff done around the house he had just bought. On the second time he borrowed it, he "hurt" my baby. Said he forgot he was driving a truck, took the turn a little too tight getting out of the driveway, and hit a pc of wood that was sticking out from the fence. Needles to say he covered the repair, of course, but still sucked. Was without the truck for a week or two (can't remember exactly how long). Basically what they did was cut the pc of metal that was dented, and welded a new pc/strip on.



Next I found the beauty of group buys on here, and bought a Bakflip G2 cover to replace a crappy soft cover I had found on Facebook from a local guy.



Up next was getting the front windows tinted to match the back, and shortly after that, the OEM roof rack.



Then Map and dome LEDs, along with LED headlight bulbs from CSJumper.



Then a BPF Skid Plate with tow hook.



Up next was switching my clock hazard assembly unit with a non clock one, since the NAV system already had the time up on the screen. Made the swap with @Schijff749 up in Boston, when I was up there for work one day.



Next was some Weathertech floor mats, and swapped out the Weathertech sticker with this one, thanks to the GB that @DirtyD510 was doing.



AFE Stage II Pro Dry Intake that I bought from @HolyHandGrenade, and he was awesome enough to actually install it for me.




Some AVS Vent Shades.



AMP Research bed extender I bought from @WOTaco



Then came a few things at the same time, since I was already fiddling around in the "area". Horn relocation mod, Bob's Mirror, Redline hood struts, UltraGauge MX 1.3.



Then I debadged the door and tailgate (sorry, can't seem to find any pics on my phone).

Up next was the biggest thing I had done at that time... the much sought after Pro Grill. Decided to bite the bullet and bought one, thank to one of @Unchained 5150's deals.



After came a bed step, since I do use my truck for stuff.



Shortly after that I put in some Reverse LEDs & shifter bezel LED from CSJumper (sorry, no pics again). And right around the same time I blacked out my radiator.



Then came a bunch of interior mods... Black steering wheel controls, black shifter bezel, black AC vent panel, black gauge cluster rings + black tweeter rings. All thanks to the help of @nazlax10.



Got a BPF cooling tray, but had to get rid of it because of a mod that came later on... sold it to @BadDNA.



Then got some Morimoto XB LED fog lights, because by then I had the idea of "murdering out" the truck, so was dead set on doing everything black, or as much as I possibly could do/change to black.



Then some Anzo tail lights smoked tail lights.



Then came the Hilux 4x4 switch mod. MASSIVE thanks again to @nazlax10 AGAIN.



Then finally decided to get an OEM bed mat, again thanks to one of @Unchained 5150 's deals. Sorry, no pics, but you all know what it looks like.

Some Hondo Garage radio knobs, to replace the crappy OEM ones.



Up next I hopped on the light bar stuff. Got an OKLED 20" light bar from @AZBACKCOUNTRY, that back then I had mounted to my bull bar, along with a CH4X4 LED light bar switch w/add-a-fuse.



Up next was the fog light anytime mod, the @nd4spdbh version with a slight mod to it, thanks to my man @tgriff who "built" the pc for me.



Then debadged the bed, and removed the TRD Sport stickers.



Then did the mod all the cool kids were doing at the time... the secondary air pump filter mod.



Then came the BIGGEST mod so far... RETROS!
- Morimoto Mini H1's and Morimoto Panamera shrouds with dual intensity LED DRL's & 5000k bulbs)



Followed by tailgate Anti-Theft Device by @scleaf.



Then got a Anzo blacked out third break light (sorry, again, for no pics).

Up next was a @HomerTaco grill, that I bought from @Ulysiss. I took off the Pro grill from the surround, sold it to @uurx, and put the Homer one in. The Homer one came with a white surround, which I gave to @Nicetacobro. In the process of this, I decided to get rid of my bull bar, since I was getting tons of "flack" from @mach1man001 and a few others in the NEBS thread. So I picked up a BAMF behind the grill light bar mount from @TXAggieTRD. Had that sand blasted and powder coated by a local shop, and changed up the front.



At a local fluid film meet up recently, hosted by @surfandturf, I did the rear diff breather mod. Huge thanks to my man @jc11taco89 for helping me do it. Sorry, no pics... straight forward. I'm sure you've seen pics of this from other peeps.

Got a Fumoto valve as well.



Picked up a Leer100R recently from @07TacoDCOR through a Facebook sale. It's red for now, but going to have it painted in the summer, with the help of @vssman (huge thanks to him).



Got some Salex center console and glove box organizers. Sorry, no pics. Pretty straight forward.

Recently put on a power Pop and Lock, now that I have a cap.



And just today, picked this up from @HolyHandGrenade. It's a Mobtown tailgate skid (which I just put on), and a @BenWA rear window power sliding kit, which I hope to put on as well once the weather gets better.



PRO suspension installed. HUGE shout out to @tacobell007 and @Boston10Taco for the help.

For wheels, I have OEM TRD Sport 17" wheels painted black w/Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 tires (Winter wheels), that I picked up from @Nimble9 a while back. And Pro Comp Extreme 17" wheels that I picked up from @yazmatic, with the help of @DoubleRGirl for the TW express, w/Firestone Destination LE2 tires (Spring/Summer/Fall wheels).

Trying to make the truck look good, and functional as much as possible, since it's my daily driver. The wife already bitches and complains every time I get/do something, so a lot of the stuff I have on there now is either on the DL, or I fibbed about how and much. So... SSSHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the mods pending list as of today are (updated 3/20):
- BenWA rear window power kit
- Blackcat custom gauge
- @bullaculla trailer plug relocation bracket
- RAAmat to do the doors and backwall
- Any time rear view camera button



I'll try to keep this updated as I go along.

Don't forget to add a refrigerator, stocked with beer. You will get a lot of helper to join in with the fun.

 

LOL! The fridge is there already, with some beer, but definitely needs to be stocked up! Anytime any fellow TW peep in the neighborhood they are more than welcome to stop by. Thanks for the compliment on the truck!
