Not too shabby for $10 bucks. Although a year later I’m still working on it....

Like two buck chuck (Charles Shaw). It’s not the greatest but it’ll get the job done.

Last couple of times I’ve gone I haven’t seen it so I’m not sure if it was a one off or not. Worth checking for though.

It was a Christmas gift. It is okay. I have only had a little bit of it. I need to try it again after I have let it breath some.

46 is probably my fav for whisky cokes. It’s sweet, which pairs well with the coke.

Anyone try Eagle Rare? I was at BevMo to replenish my vodka supply and decided to stroll over to the bourbon section. Don't have to be the Amazing Kreskin to know what happened next - bought another bourbon! Was torn between Angels Envy and Eagle Rare. I haven't tried either but heard good things about both. I decided on the ER, frankly, because it was less expensive. When I got home I found out the unusually tall bottle doesn't fit vertically on any of the shelves in my liquor cabinet! I'll be giving it a proper try shortly...

    Doesn't fit!

Big fan of ER... Really hard to beat for ~30 bucks! I’ve tried it next to bottles that are more than twice as expensive, and preferred it hands down!

I like the eagle rare. Decent for cheap. I'd rate it above the Basil.

Agreed with @YotaBum and @81shark ! I think it is really good, especially for the price.

My area is having a little run on it right now and it isn't exactly available on every shelf. Some are charging quite a bit for it, too. I was at one store and they had one bottle of the Eagle Rare 10, not a store pick or anything, for $100 (750ml). Another store had 4 of them on the shelf for $70 each. Both of those prices are nuts, but they might sell for close to that. Fortunately, they aren't impossible to find, so I still got mine for around $35 after taxes. Checking the secondary market, there are other regions experiencing the same. Lots of folks paying in the neighborhood of $60-70 for a bottle right now. Could start to see supply dry up. If you like it, might consider grabbing a second bottle next time out.

I want to make this part of our next whiskey club meeting and have folks try it as a blind tasting alongside a $50+ and $100+ scotch.

I have 4 bottles (2 are store select bottles, the other 2 are not). It is hard to come by here, and it is very hard to beat for the price (~$30). I do prefer other bourbons over Eagle Rare (Blantons, Angel's Envy Rye) but the ones I prefer over it tend to be more expensive.

If your tastes are anything like mine...then you made a good choice.

You're in the same area as me. Supply is drying up. If I find some more, I can snag you a bottle?

Lol, I was going to quote the Eagle Rare responses but there are so many! I guess I'm not surprised it's becoming hard to find. I tried it last night and it was actually pretty good. I had to go back for more!

I agree with @81shark that it's better than Basil Hayden and with @C0d3M0nk3y that it's not as good as Blantons but there is a big price difference so no problem there. I'm surprised that so far all my bourbons are better than the 2 single malt Scotches I have (Glenmorangie Lasanta and Glenlivet 18).

$100 a bottle? I just checked all the BevMo's in my area and they each have several bottles in stock. I see @bvbull200 there are no BevMo's in Texas... At $100 a bottle maybe I should buy up the bottles here and sell them to you! Say, $65 per bottle then you charge $100? Lol.

I've been looking for Weller's but it's just not available. I found an article where a science guy duplicates Pappy Van Winkle by blending Weller 12 and Weller Antique in specific ratios. Apparently the mash bill is the same, distiller is the same, however Pappy was aged in a better warehouse location. Supposedly that's it. You can google "Poor Man's Pappy" to see.

I haven't had much luck at those places. I'll keep my eyes open at the little spots. If I find one for $35 or under, I'll snag it for you and let you know. If you've already got one, I'll just put it on my shelf :D.
