My wife's Highlander will steer itself back into the lane. But a Highlander isn't a Tacoma. I'm not helping, am I....

I think for the vehicles like our trucks, it's only a "beep". Something to do with being a cab on frame, as opposed to a uni-body design.

I’ve been in a suburban while my buddy’s duramax is getting its oil changed and some emissions stuff, and it steers itself. Has nothing to do with unibody designs

I'm looking for the post in TW that discussed it & explained it better, will update if I can find it. This is one, but there was one that was better detailed.

The 2018's will come w/ TSS-P (Toyota Safety Sense, Package P), so it has Pre-Collision w/ Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert (no Steering Assist, because it has Hydraulic Steering), Automatic High Beams, annnnd my FAVORITE, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Leather seats available in TRD's - the only change I care about.

I was just the Toyota, re-ordering a 2018 me and the manager was looking at the allocations they do have Cement ones available. During Camry training they just attended one of the questions was with lane keep assist. The factory Toyota rep said that it will not come on body on frame vehicles, like tundra , Sequoia and Tacoma. The steering assist uses an electronic steering box, versus a manual on the trucks and larger SUV.

What does it do if you are “departing” your lane to steer around some debris or a pothole? Do you have to fight the system?

There's no resistance. It allows you to do whatever you want. If you have your hands lightly on the wheel it will steer you back into the lane however.

My 2018 SR5 does. I am assuming TRD's as well. Not sure about SR though.

For 2018, V6 Tacos include the Tow package, which was a $650 option in 2017. I believe SR5 and above all have a power rear window also.

    Brand spanking new...
The moved the DC rear window button to the center dash instead of the left of the steering wheel. It's the little things right...?
