Ok I need some help. I have heard that 16's will fit and I have heard that they wont.
I am put a lift on soon and am just looking at wheel options. Will 16's work? I think I would like to run 285/75/16 on 16x 8 wheels with a 3in lift if that will work.

Also I have heard that there was some type of brake or rotorchange aroung 06. can someone please explain.

Some 16" wheels won't fit, if I was you I would test fit one of the wheels your looking at.

Cheap solution, buy some used TRD alloys (16") and a set of spacers and then you can run your 285s.

    getting there....
hey man, there are plenty of 16 inch wheels that will work....just gotta make sure the bolt pattern and back spacing are correct.

not sure about the brake change in the 06 though....as far as i know, its the same as the 05. there was a tsb for squeaky brakes at one point......and with that...dealers were changing the rotors and pads per the tsb.

what type of wheel are you looking for??

A lot of 16" wheels will work, but some won't. If you have a TRD Tacoma it's even worse because they have bigger brake calipers on the front.

Also it has nothing to do with the backspacing of the wheel. It has everything to do with the shape of the inside of the wheel, for example, Robby Gordon wheels, 17x8, 4" backspacing, will not fit. And they are 17" even with correct offset.....

Just depends on the wheel man.
