Those who have not had problems will stay and those who are experiencing Toyota's poor quality control and lack of support will go :notsure:

I agree Toyota makes it diffucult with their choice of packages. Even worse up here in Canada. Only MT is TRD Pro or TRD Sport. Since '17 MY Sport only with $4k upgrade package. They used to sell base DC 4x4 6MT Tacomas for most of the 2nd gen run. Too bad you can't get SR with 6MT in 3rd gen. Even better if they made one available in DCLB 4x4 6MT, but they never did one like that even in previous gens. I bet 3rd gen SR has comparable options to my 07 Sport which was top trim back then.

If Ford can price it under the Tacoma they could see strong sales. To me I am a fan of Toyota but would not hesitate to buy elsewhere if Ford can bring a better product.

I'm pretty sure they just showed the new Ford Bronco in that King Kong movie commercial.

That's the concept vehicle I've seen for about 7-8 years it feels like.

Believe they make more money in the upper trim packages. The basic little truck is darn near gone. They killed the 5 lug, and the regular cab. Which is understandable if they didn't sell well. Unfortunately cheap middle-age cranky SOB's like myself, it pushes those few guys to buy a truck that has more than they want/need and costs more. Or they refuse to buy a new truck altogether, and keep on fixing their old crap. ;)

The SR comes pretty optioned out for a base model, power windows, power locks, AC...manual trans is now gone. Pretty much everything you need, but no V6 option. I could live without a manual trans, have come to terms that they are dying. If Ford can make a nearly 300 hp/tq 4WD Ranger XL for under $30K...put it right at the SR woefully underpowered 4 banger price point, it would be a winner for me.

I'll never forget the 2016 Tacoma I test drove when they first came out:

1st was the noticable lack of low end torque

2nd was the Reverse to Drive delay putting it back in the parking spot we drove it out from. I gave a "wtf is wrong with this thing" look at the salesman when it happened. Sure there's a TSB for it now, but it should have never been an issue in the first place with proper quality control.

Your entire response is completely disconnected from that comment chain. It's like you are having your own internet argument in your head.

Why are you getting soo upset that people might switch from Tacoma to a Ranger? Why are you upset that you sound like a fanboy?

At around :09 seconds in you see it. It doesn't look great tbh--and definitely has that concept car look to it. I hope they sort that out too. I'd like to have options.

Well apparently you do, since you were arguing about it.

As stated above, my point was that quality control issues happen to every company, regardless of vehicle price.

    Because Tacomaworld.

apparently the point I was making was who cares about lawsuits, when in the end Toyota replaced all frames that were considered rusted out,and Ford never replaced any of their rotted frames for the owners, just goes to show that Toyota stands behind their products whereas Ford doesn't.

why do you find it necessary to keep returning here with your usual anti Tacoma vibes? you've had a bad experience because you bought a vehicle that was too much for you to handle and made a mistake cause you bought based on pure looks and not on real reasons like normal people would do, you don't buy a car just based on its sexy looking there has to be other factors which you overlooked now its sour grapes. so now you have a suburu and alls well in the world, if you had done your research properly you would have figured out that's the vehicle that fits your needs, but instead of blaming yourself you want to rip on the Tacoma.
