My truck is about 2.5”. You can see the picture in my profile. Pros is it’s awesome and drives a little better even though it is slightly more stiff. Cons are it makes a shitty transmission even worse with the bigger tires. I don’t regret anything though. I love my truck.

That's going to be rough my friend. Cause most 4" lifts are going to be a db lift or a spindle. Majority of the trucks on here run no higher than 3". You might find a few that have a 3" with a 1" body lift. Welcome to the forum though

.....I must agree, too many "other problems" happen after 3" of lift.

Curious on the reason ? Is it due to the size of the job? Or is there problems associated with a 4 inch suspension lift ?

3” lift with 35s FTMFW. The only lifts higher than 3” you will find are mall crawler drop brackets (not that there is anything wrong with that, just pointless for Offroad use IMO) or spindle lifts for 2wds.

No just the clearance. There's nothing wrong with db lifts. The majority of full size trucks that you see on the road that don't have a spacer lift has a drop bracket lift. If your fixed on 4" just do 3" suspension and 1" body lift. It looks really good

    Thanks.

To answer your question, going higher than 3” on a 4wd truck without using a drop bracket creates extreme CV angles and other geometry problems. Getting your truck into alignment will be difficult if not impossible.

I wouldn't say people don't wheel those. There is a Canadian on our forum that runs a 6" db and he wheels all the time

A drop bracket lift does not give you more clearance on the front diff. Plus, there’s not any heavy duty skid plates available for dB lifts that I am aware of. The only way you are going to get clearance with a dB lift like you would with a 3” suspension lift is by riding on 37” or larger tires. Then you are looking at rehearing and cutting fenders, etc.

Is there a lot of cutting/ clearanceing to get 35s under the 3 inch suspension?

I didn't say it did, OP asked the reason why people don't go DB lift and I said the clearance.

I agree that people do wheel with dB lifts, like stated in my previous post, you are not gaining any diff clearance by running one.

Just a CMC and hammer the pinch weld flat. Have to make sure you are a true 3” lift and run aftermarket UCAs.
