It all depends on your situation man....I got my 2017 TRD OR because I tend to do adventurous things on my off time and without being in control of where I get stationed next, the locking diff and crawl seemed beneficial as there may not be snow here in Ga, but if I get stationed in Washington, upstate NY, or in the desert where there is more sand it definitely makes me feel better.

I am sure they would be able to bypass the TSS features in the future, but I don't think a small lift would affect much....

That being said, for your uses I would recommend getting a well spec'd SR5 or Sport. I haven't really needed the locker or crawl control for some decent off roading yet. It does wonders just in 4Hi and with stock tires, it will blow you away with its stock capability if you are worried about that. The OR will have better resale though. I would only get the 17 if you can get it new, as used Tacos can be had for near new or more than new prices considering how they hold their value.

Hard to find 0 mile 2017, it had 14 (6 of the miles was from me on the test drive) so basically brand new.

nice, as in 0 i meant brand new and not previously owned. good find on a brand new 2017 when the 18s are out! I would have made the same decision as you. I wish i had the patience to wait for my 17 until the 18s came out.

I was going to get a 18 but I figured why pay more for the safety stuff i will barely use, but my CRV's CAT on the header blew so instead of paying 2k+ to fix it i just thought it was a good time to upgrade. lucky for me there was just alot of promotions going on.

I hear ya on that. I had a 2012 Tacoma. Had a few head gasket issues and they wanted about 7k to fix. I wasn’t about to pay that for a truck that had 100k on the clock.
