Any chance those rails were yakima tracks? I've an ARE Overland shell with yakima rail tracks on top and was hoping that the prinsu rack would fit on those, allowing me to easily use both of their racks, one for the can and one for the shell

ARE MX with track for a short profile basket when needed (I hang the basket in the ceiling of the MX when not used and it makes a nice shelf to store stuff inside) + Prinsu for cabover RTT when we are camping:

I was looking into getting my first cap. There is a used ARE cap TW series I can get for a 3rd gen for $850. I was wondering if anyone had one and could tell me the pros and Cons. If they know diced a big change in gas milage. if that's a good price for a used one, and if there are anything i should ask or look for before i purchase it.

I got two dogs, and do property management so have to load materials in the back but like to go camping on the weekends so hope to camp in the back, if i get it.

What series, what style side windows/windoors? These are factors on making things easier for your goals.

Just to add, I've seen a lot of folks running rtt on top of their shell and it's well beyond the load treating of certain model shells. I wonder if it's possible to add reinforcement inside the cab

I believe you can purchase reinforced shells. Also I’m sure there’s a decent factor of safety for shell’s load capacity ... I think some people run rtt without reinforcement.

I love having a roof rack. I hauled a king size mattress and box frames on my roof with my old truck. I just put the Prinsu on my new truck yesterday. I am sure it will come in handy.

Tie down that mattress on top with a tarp and a couple sticks you can make an RTT with it

I have an ARE MX cap and average around 22.5 mpg so I don't think the cap decreases the MPG. A new FG ARE runs around $2-2.5 K so if the cap is in good shape and is water-tight $800 is a good price.

OK, aluminum caps usually run less$ than FG caps. So I don't know if the $800 cap is a good deal.

I have a FG shell (ARE MX) and like it, but would go with an Alucab canopy if I was doing it over. It's way stronger and more versatile. Either way, side doors are key !! I'm running Prinsu racks front and back, love them !

You can email them at their US distributer OK4wd, rino@ok4wd.com was super helpful when I was inquiring about their products.
