Mike, you and Madison @YotaGurlIAm should check out Oriflamme Canyon Trail just off the 78fwy in Julian.

Punch this address in and just across the street is the "trailhead entrance".
    Address:
    36342 CA-78
    Julian, CA 92036

It's a fun little trail that I took Dirk @sdsurfer and a couple other guys on. 2wd friendly for sure. Although, I did hear that going from "bottom to top" is/can be hard for 2wd? But, if starting from the 78fwy going to the S2 fwy then it is easy. Here is a little vid clip I made when I took Dirk that day just to give you an idea of what it is like. I LOVE that trail and have been on it 3x already.
    https://youtu.be/YdPmPm_wOkc

Check it out when you can. If you go the "northern route", which is called "Rodriguez Truck Trail", there is a "cabin" and eventually a "rock garden", but supposedly there is an alternate route for that rock garden for those that can't do it.

Here are some pictures and annotated map I made for reference.
    T_intersection_of_78_and_ChariotMountainEntrance.jpg
    OriflammeCanyon_S2_exit.jpg
    ChariotMountain_map.jpg

You SHOULD be able to complete the trail in roughly 1.5hrs or thereabouts? Possibly sooner? I'm bad at gauging time on a trail because I usually just do it without really worrying too much about "how long"? :notsure: But, with that said, roughly 1.5hrs sounds about right.

I think you, Madison, and others will enjoy it? Definitely a fun little trail.

Finally, when starting that trailhead, you will be driving roughly 100yds and come up to a "locked gate". Every time I've done that trail, the gate looks "locked", but is not. Just open and close it how you found it. That is the only thing you may encounter, but it has never been locked all the times I went.

I hope you can check it out and have fun doing the trail.

HAHAHA, never mind. It's just 2-3posts above. :goingcrazy::facepalm::laughing::laugh::rofl:

But yeah, I typically attract the "MoD squad" and not even be doing anything wrong, but simply exist in life and still get in trouble for something?! :goingcrazy::facepalm::laughing::laugh::rofl: I have witnesses that can attest to that!!! :D:p

I broke my shoulder badly 8 years ago. The only thing that really sucked was walking my hand up the wall. That shit sucked.

Mike @eccracer104, if you're going to Superstition, then you can make this as part of your trip as you're going TO Superstition.:notsure: Just a thought since it would be on your way if traveling on/through the 78fwy. At the end of the trail, make a left on the S2 and it will take you straight back to the 78fwy. Make a right and continue East.

    T_intersection_of_S2_and_78.jpg

A broader overhead view. Superstition is more east of Split Mountain. I wish I could make it, but can't. In either case, have fun people!!! :mudding:

Damn that SUCKS!!! Sorry to hear this!

I'm lucky I didn't completely jack my shoulder. I was climbing out the side of the truck bed with my hands on the side and my foot on the tire and my foot slipped and I was holding on to the side the whole time. Did a "somersault", if you will and twisted the SHI* outta my shoulder. It hurt for weeks. To this day, I can't really lift weights above my head/shoulder or it just gives in. I'm always very apprehensive lifting heavy objects when from above head/shoulder level or that shi* might come crashing down on me!!! So, in sortof a way, I can understand what you guys are going through, but definitely not comparing... just saying what happened with me.

As a matter of fact, when I had that warehouse temp job, we were lifting a roughly 250# box and I kept telling the guy I had to be careful when lifting stuff above my head. Long story short, he didn't listen to me although I was repeating myself numerous times and sure enough, the box tilted more towards me because my shoulder was "giving in"!!! He made a comment and I just lifted that MrFr due to adrenaline and it scared the shi* outta him. Then I said, "well, I F'N told you, but you didn't want to listen to me!!!" My shoulder was hurting a day or two after that. F'N PRICK deserved it!!! o_O:thumbsup:

That was a fun run... @stvstoy and @Nicklovin were on that run as well. Nothing too crazy... but it was decent.
