I think it's already been established that I was wrong. I've been known to be wrong once or twice in my 64 years on this earth. :anonymous:

Sorry, I wasn't trying to rub it in. I was just giving you an actual reference over someone else's word. I could have posted differently I suppose.

I finally got rid of the chrome grill surround with a colored matched surround. I have forotten how much of a pain it was when I installed the TRD PRO grill.

Can someone help me out? What are you using to reseal headlights or light bars after opening them for some "mods"? Butyl or something?

And next question, who has a good link for purchasing extremely small Halo lights? Around an inch in diameter?

I have an electrical/lighting project I want to attempt in the coming weeks.

@nazlax10 ; My sister lives up in Delta and works at Greeley. She's tougher than me because I don't think I could live there. Mostly because of the winters.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I was hoping Toyota would use an aramid fiber instead of regular glass fiber. It would certainly reduce the flammability of the truck bed. I'm not expecting carbon fiber, but aramid would have been nice. I've laid fiberglass when working on boats and I hate that shit. Good to know what's under the plastic in case I ever want to drill my bed. I'll know to "cover up", so I don't get fiber itch.

The easiest way I have found for badge removal is to hit them with a little heat, either a nice Florida sunny summer day or a heat gun/hair drier then using some waxed nylon thread in a flossing motion between the badge and the body, slowly cut the adhesive through from one end of the badge to the other. Then clean up any leftovers with some Isapropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Then finish with a little polish and wax. :)

She's tougher than me too haha. That's cold, I wouldn't want to do that. I volunteered to come here, but am glad I didn't end up at Eilson in Fairbanks. Honestly though I was stationed in Omaha Nebraska before this and a lot of days it was colder there than in Anchorage.

LoL sorry I wasn't trying to be a dick either, memes are just funny, but it may have come off as belittling to you. :bananadead:

I was just trying to be educational, stupid text communicating with no way to transcribe sarcasm...

It's actually a very common misconception as Toyota more or less markets it as a plastic bed, and thusly most folks refer to it in kind. Rather misleading. I only discovered it was FRP after I made that tiny chip in the coating and since I work around FRP frequently I knew exactly what was up. Like most I figured it was some kind of nylon plastic polymer or such. :)

Personally I have never been wrong, I mean I thought I was wrong once, but It was mistaken. ;)

I've always been a fan of Toyota 103 FIPG as a sealant or gasket maker. It works very well. That said I've never used it in a headlamp, but it has excellent vibration and heat resistance with pretty reasonable adhesion strength.
