2012 tacoma v6 manual transmission 30k on truck 2.85 pulley ucon ems. Running into some issues and am thinking it may be my clutch. Supercharger installed a little while back but less than 1000 miles since install and seems fine under low-medium throttle. Under 3/4 to full throttle (already in gear) it looses power and even bucks like a bad clutch let off. EXAMPLE- in third gear once I reach 2500 rpms I give the vehicle 3/4 to 100% of throttle vehicle will not smoothly accelerate through the rpm/power band. Im not a mechanic I just learn something new each day. Am I expecting too much from my stock clutch or could this be another issue entirely? Where do I start? Any help would be fantastic.

The stock 3.4 it's no problem and the clutch will last 250,000 miles,
Not sure about the 4. Motor

Stock 4.0 clutch is known to be insufficient when upgrading the supercharger. Check out URD for upgrade options.

That doesn't sound like a clutch prob. to me. Clutch slip would just rev up w/o going anywhere in a hurry.

This is true. The weak clutch would just let the RPMs accelerate faster than the truck while slipping.

@VolcomTacoma ate his OEM clutch pretty quickly IIRC, once he was SCd.

I'm not saying a stock clutch will handle the S/C in the long run, just that this particular prob. sounds tuning or fuel related.

*It's my personal opinion that once you add a S/C or turbo, you've got a project vehicle from then on. Nothing wrong with that. I used to like hot rods and modding but once you start, it's never finished.

From my Actually experience this is not true by any means, once the supercharger is tuned its golden for the 1st gens. The 1st gen stock clutch, 5speed trans, differentials, ujoints, axels are more than capable of dealing with the extra power. I have never had any failures related to the supercharger ever!! and all original running gear with no rebuilts except the engine (head gasket) at 552,000 miles !!Maybe 2nd gens are different and not built as well

JMO and experience.....I know myself would never have stopped at 8 pnds. OP, I'm not crapping in your box, if you get tuned and leave well enough alone like 1997's, all will be fine.
I've just never met anyone who would do something like that. If they were the type to leave well enough alone, they never would have added a S/C.

100% agree. These SC'rs add what... 35HP? That is not going to upset the stock components.

Yes, 40 on your 3.4 (crank)

    About 70 for us (crank)

    2.85 pulley is another 1.5 to 2psi

Diff vehicles and blowers different issues.

Just adding the blower to the tundra in stock form stresses the auto transmission and early slippage is EXPECTED per a personal friend and tech i know.

    Ah, makes sense.
Thinking I would have passed on my SC if I knew how little it pepped up my truck and all the tuning BS I have had to go through. URD's tech support has been very lackluster and had me regretting my purchase when I pinged them with tuning questions.
Ping for days at anything under 3k RPM.

With a little tweaking you can get a 100hp plus out of the supercharger without too many issues unless you are cursed with one of the ping happy motors in the
    low rpm range.

The added supercharger horses on the 3,4 is 65hp stock not 35 or 40 at crack and both generations superchargers can be tweaked to 100hp,
