I installed it from the top. But I also installed the bumper and grill lights when I did the fogs. So I had the grille off anyway.

I can't say for sure how difficult it is going the other way, but I think I would still pull the grille if I were doing it again. (The grille is easy to remove.) Maybe someone else can chime in if they have done it the other way.

It was a little tight for my big hands back there. The second one went much faster after installing the first one. Just take your time, it's not that hard to do.

Only 3 black spacers in the parts bag! Shouldn’t there be 8? Waiting for a call back from Ridged.

No you don't need 8, the spacers are just for the holes where the plastic and plate aren't flush with each other. I think I only used two per side. I can't remember exactly.

Just two. that said, i did some work on them a few weeks after intall, and lost the spacers. once i put back together.... didn't really notice.

You will need some patience here :).

I didn't buy the adapter kit, and after some work, just spliced into the existing harness. Works fine.

There was one frustrating part.... which led to the redo... but i can't remember offhand exactly which part. You use 2 screws instead of bolts to mount an adapter to part of the truck that is plastic. I found this connection super weak, and my light came completely loose a few weeks later. I went back in and used small blots and all is fine.. At work, so sorry i don't have the exact install point.

Also, will be very helpful if you have small hands and a small rachet kit. Was a great excuse to go to Home Depot :)

Just got off the phone with a woman from Ridged, she said the black spacer goes on the L-Bracket, and the 3rd on was an extra, but she wasn’t sure because she wasn’t able to pull up the PDF File on her computer. Still waiting to hear back from them. Tick tic on a Friday!

Ridged emailed me a PDF with the instillation instructions. All in all it was a pretty straight forward install. A huge upgrade over the factory fog lights!

Start on the drivers side first, there’s more room from the top down, and when you do the passenger side you’ll have a better understanding of the install process, but it is tighter on that side. When you back that one screw out on the OEM fog light make sure to use your fingers to back it the rest of the way out because it will be a bitch to get it out if you drop it. I used 1 1/4” #8 machine screws. They were too long, but it helped to feel where they were by hand. I wouldn’t go any less than 3/4”! I would definitely use machine screws becauselike Old Man said his lights were loose after a week with just the screws!

Looks like you did a great job. I love mine, it did take me a couple tries to get them aimed correctly.

I appreciate you attaching the directions, I was looking all over my garage for them so I could send them to you. I hate it when I can't find stuff. I put the directions away so I would always have them to reference but now I can't find them. Such an old guy.

I put these in a few months ago; they are much brighter than the factory fogs, but imho they're really not "fog" lights any more; they don't seem to be directed down, they more shine all over.

Looks great Tacoaric! Yeah, I would definitely say they no longer function as fog lights, unless maybe you use the amber caps?

I had a Larry David/Curb Your Enthusiasm moment, I was driving down my street and I was showing my wife how bright the new “fog lights” were, and there was this lady in the shadows, and I blinded the crap out of her! lol

It read fog lights on the package. Doesn’t really matter to me because I never really get much fog in my area, but I do use roads that have no lights, so they work great for me!

You have to aim them down, unlike normal off-road lights. You would have to put amber covers to use them as real “fog lights” but I really use them as driving lights.
