Looking into 96-2002 4runners and I saw a window sticker for one. $30k I didn't know they were that expensive back then. And it had cloth seats.

You just can't beat diesel when it comes to MPG (towing or not). Again, look into Supercharge to overcome the altitude effect.

I think diesel is a better option than an (I'm sure very expensive) mod to get the mileage to be decent. Especially after I learned insurance won't cover mods. Ain't got time for those. o_O

The 3.0l with 10spd trans is expected to get over 30mpg highway. So yeahhhhh.

It's ridiculous that in 2018 the Toyota engine could be so inefficient... When competitors are 40% higher.

I'd rather spend money on other stuff than the middle easts bank accounts.

The Taco will get retired on the next year or two, and it will be replaced with a 3/4 or Wonton Diesel.

Keep it 3/4 ton if your going to use it for your business. A 1 ton truck will need electronic logs and CDL if used for the business.

Nah. And value is based on old expectations.

If the big three would stop over pricing vehicles just to discount them all, their depreciation would stop being an issue. And fairly certain the 2016 Tacoma had the most complaints/issues out of any mid size truck in a while.

Actually like someone else said, All this new competition for the Taco might actually see a significant improvement in engine choices soon. At least that's what I keep telling my self. Otherwise I can get the Crate Cummins for $9K and get it in there.

Doubt it'll be soon. But hopefully eventually. They still know they can sell any junk they push out.

Well when you go to ditch your tundra for one them Chebbys, you will be thankful the Tundra holds its value. Because if you were ditching any of the big 3 this soon, you would lose your ass in a major way

Again.. that's because for whatever reason the domestics price a $40k truck at $50k and offer everyone $10k off. Of course that hurts value.

My cousin bought a 2015 Colorado after i bought mine. His was a 2wd. Paid $32k new and got $29k in trade in at a dealership in November with decent miles on it.

    Honestly, you're only half right.

I have been slowly shoppoing forf a long time and most of the used/lightly used gmc/fords are holding value. Again this is probably because of the huge mark ups most people are willing to pay, but they are right about in line with the Tundra. In fact I started reconsidering the Tundra because I could often find one for cheaper with lower miles that has been used vs a new F150.

Maybe its just the different areas? Maybe its just hit and miss. Not sayin the tundy isnt a great rig, I want one. But not when the gmc and ford are that far ahead.

I don't like the dodge still so i excluded it lol and i drive one for work. Not a bad truck really, I just don't like it as much personally.

Exactly, a mid 2000s Duramax.. prices have held steady for years. If I wasn't buying land, i would've purchased one of those instead. But can't get a decent loan since they are old.

I had a 2005 Silverado from 2009-2013... Bought it used from a dealer, put tires on it and changed the oil. Sold it private party for less than $1k loss from my out the door dealer price four years earlier.

My taco is worth more now than what I paid for it used.
    Just sayin.
