Exactly. Good enough to start with. I had three or four that I was looking at on Amazon, but couldn't really tell which was going to be worth it. For less $$, I bought the HF 30ft as a just-in-case. After some meet ups, I can see what really works.

That sucks. Vision X is local too. You’d think they’d like to see them, gain some real world feedback, and want to hook you up.

Seems to be the norm in this industry. After 1 year (used about 4 times) with the RTT on the truck the tent rails cracked and collapsed. @Cascadia Tents said nothing when I posted pictures in their thread.

I was also unimpressed with their customer service when I was at the shop in Bend. I'm most likely going to switch back to Tepui when the season starts again.

Currently waiting to hear back on warranty for my awning from them. Although seen an ARB in person and its way nicer. Might switch at some point.

    So with my tent,

The Ladder velcro is off and not long enough to actually strap the ladder down.
The excess fabric where the side straps are riveted into the bottom you can't actually fully zip the cover on in cold weather, and in warm weather its very difficult.
The redesign of adding additional slots for the annex to be added without removing the cover have pinched shut do to the cover straps going directly over them.
    Mounting rails have broke.

Send in pics to the police, they tend to follow up

I'd be hesitant on the shackles. Probably not safety tested very well.
The strap is probably good for winching, but not the stretchiness for a recovery strap. Dad has one and I wasn't impressed on some of the stitching. Also, better companies like ARB sew in a red layer of material to let you know if the strap is about to fail.

When playing with your life, play safe! Buy quality, but buy smart as well

    Agreed.

My experience with most HF stuff is "use once, toss it away".
I would rather pay a bit more and get a quality piece(s) of recovery gear.
Otherwise why not just buy an ATV winch?

    Cheapest is best, right?

Looks like they deleted all the posts past page 153 o_O.

Also, what a shitty way to have that on your record if indeed that's what his daughter did.

I think the guys story smells funny. Would you be willing to be labeled a sexual predator to save your daughters reputation.

Depends. If I had a line of work that didn't care whether I was a felon, etc I would surely think about taking the fall to ensure my kid's entire adult future.

But as is, that I have a desk job at a hospital, no way.

    Safety Third, right? :D

The HF 3/4in shackle appears to be identical to the one that came with the Vault-brand shackle hitch that I got. I swapped the bolt between them and they both threaded together without any binding. That is not a guarantee of much, but . . .

I looked over the construction of the strap and was happy with what I saw. It would be interesting to compare. I know what you are saying about the stiffness though. Seeing the extension straps in action is pretty cool.

I'm stock all around and really don't see myself going any further than maybe a more aggressive tire tread when the stockers wear out. I could probably get in too far and too bad bone stock. I'm just trying to keep it real with where I am at experience-wise.

That has not been my experience. I know their stuff isn't professional quality, but I'm definitely not a pro or have a pro's budget.

No winch. One might be way down the road. I have only needed one once on my bike, but a rope and pull did just find in that situation.

I am here to learn though. The HF recover stuff might not mesh up with the other tools that I bought.

Maybe I missed something in the guys story, but if his daughter and the boy where both just kids the only thing that would have happened is her name thrown around school with some extra words attached. Kids are cruel that's for sure. It's a big country though you can take your kid out the area. Dude will be labeled a predator for LIFE every where he goes.

One of mine pooped in my hand while I was carrying him to the bathtub. The joys of parenting. I've been peed on more times then Trump at a Russian whore house.
