I'd argue that $17-25K is what 7-8 year old trucks go for.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter. I just don't think that $10K is an accurate value range what trucks go for with 100,000 miles. Sure you can find some at that price by searching, my experience is that more and more trucks are just way more expensive than they were 10+ years ago.

 

My DCSB last year was $8,500 with 219k miles. Valued by insurance and the state at $11,300

 

I misread your post, I thought you were trying to get at the domestic trucks wouldn't even be worth $10k at 8 years old and 100k miles. I agree with you on truck pricing now though, it's really getting out of hand. Base model trucks starting in the $30k range and climbing quickly from there.

I've got a tungsten carbide ring. Most of the time I don't wear it and neither does the wife as we'd have to take them off just about every night at the gym. Doesn't really bother her since she rarely wears hers either. We pretty much only wear then when traveling for work.

I didn't like wearing my ring. (Ex)Wife suggested I could wear it on a chain around my neck. I told her that was a choking hazard.

Sure the Tungsten rings can take abuse, but they're way to bulky compared to a good ring

 

Just follow my approach and don't get married; then you don't have to explain why you're not wearing the ring.

I lost a platinum one first, then I got a white gold one, then I got a silver one. Next was gonna be a ring from a box of Cracker Jacks. Then a few years later I found the white gold one in the gravel driveway. Then I divorced the bitch, problem solved!
