Not enough to have a build thread.
Gawd yes. And i had no idea how small an LS1 is. Could definitely fit that in the jeep

There might be an LS3 showing up at my house in the coming weeks. :spy: I'll take measurement and pictures for "research." It's definitely not for my truck. No way I could afford a $20K engine.

That being said, if an LS3 could fit in the Tacoma, I might be looking at getting one when my engine blows.

LS, 6L80E, and 4 speed Atlas is the dream! :jerkoff:

At that point just buy a built rig. Seems like it would be a nice rig but dam pricy build.
If you keep your eyes out you could find axels for a first gen that have been built already with lockers. Ive seen quite a few 60s over the yrs built ready to go.

But why buy a built rig that isn't what I want? I'd just rebuild the whole thing anyways.

I understand why though. We all have different taste in builds. Some people just want a rig that they can just go out and beat on the weekends. You definitely can save a ton of money buy buying a built rig, but that's your choice.

I'm okay with taking the more expensive build path. I know what I want and I know what parts will help achieve that.

we don't all have daddy to help us build and we have to pay someone. when you think about that, its different. cost to pay a fab shop is $$$.

Ha! Dad's definitely not going to fund a one ton SAS for my truck. ;)

Don at FC Fab will probably be the fabricator I go to when it's time to get the swap done. Time is money, but for the price Don has given me, I'll definitely pay for it. I thought about maybe the 4WU stuff. Buying all the brackets is definitely far less expensive than having custom ones made. We'll see. I'm still at least a decade away from even beginning to really plan this out.

No. Don at FC Fab has done all the work on the FJC.

I do still live at home. I plan on move out after I graduate college. Probably not immediately after graduating, but maybe after a year just so I know I have money and stable career. Honestly, I'm terrified of moving out.

Oh I know. Living in the Bay Area doesn't help either. A little 1500sqft apartment with a single garage is $2300 a month! I've honestly considering living out of my truck just because of that. Would be a helluva lot cheaper.

Stay at home as long as possible. Also, you don't need 1,500 square feet of space if you're single and fresh out of college lol

100 about staying home as long as you can. I pay $2,700 a month for my apartment here in the Bay Area and it sucks. Luckily I have a good job that takes care of me, but it does suck. You would be good off of living in a 500 sq foot crib too if you a single dude coming out of college. Lol

Find a friend who has a house and rent from him. That's what I do, I pay $450 a month everything included  plus I get a garage spot

That's the plan. Both of my parents agreed that it would be best to stay home for a year so I at least save up some money. My only requirement when I move out to an apartment is it has to have a garage. I'm okay with having my truck be outside, but it want some place to put my gear.

I've actually talked about this with a few friends. We've also talked about renting out a house and splitting everything.

Yeah renting a house with buddies is totally a boss move. Don't expect $450 a month tho... @BYJOSHCOOK is in Georgia so his rent doesn't apply lmao

Yea. I remember looking at a house that was for rent with a few buddies during my senior year in highschool. Don't remember details other then it has a three car garage. IIRC, it was like $5000 a month, but with 5 of us there it would definitely be doable.
