Added a 3/4 inch 250 lb DSC_0606.jpg steel plate to the box and surrounded it with ply. Serves 3 purposes by adding weight for winter traction, keeps the light ass end from bouncing and keeps things from sliding around. I will keep it in all year and will put some indoor outdoor carpet around it.

Did you have any issues installing the front bracket on your steps? Did they line up properly? I was looking at buying those and it's the one thing that turned me away from them. That and you have to buy the rubber mats for the steps separately.

Yeah, they got me on the step mat part- that was frustrating.
Yeah, the brackets lined up perfectly. There is only one bolt in the front, but I don't see how that would be any different with any step. The important part was to make sure which holes you put the middle bracket in on the step. They need to be in the front mount on the middle. People complained about confusion with that, but when you look at it, it is pretty straightforward.
The worst part about installing was holding those heavy ass steps up by myself while bolting them on lol. I am still sore from that.

i had those side steps before as well, they only have 1 bolt on the front, but they are really sturdy and strong.. its solid metal so its heavy as well. just grew tired of the looks and went with the predator steps.. =)

lol the rubber mats are just irrelevant in terms of pricing. i just went to home depot, bought some lined matts for $5 and cut them accordingly. came out really nice.

They have the rubber pads on Amazon, but they are like $85  Did the company mod the fromt bracket to where there is only 1 hole to bolt to the truck? I saw some people bent or cut their bracket to make it fit better

Yeah, to get the ones actually made for the step it is somewhere around $100, which is insane.

I have personal experience with both and have seen a Springfield FTF and get an officer shot twice in the vest. That entire dept is now with glock.

All the brackets are identical. The front one didn't have any fit issue, it was just one of the bolt holes was used. My biggest point of confusion was starting on the front and not realizing I took the wrong plug out first, since there is another plug/bolt hole on the truck about 4 or 5 inches away from where the correct hole is.
