Mine worked properly until the rapid lube broke one while replacing tires.they did own up to it and replaced the sensor but it did not make the light go off. I ended up contacting the dealer like a year later and they said it would be 80 bucks to "program" the new one so the truck would recognize it. They wouldn't budge on the price, so I said screw it and turned it off myself.

If you buy the $35 Techstream software, you can program all the TPMS sensors you want.

Does the techstream allow you to turn off the TPMS warnings? I have it, just not running on a laptop right now.

Didn't think so. I did some searches about a year ago and came up empty. I don't have a problem yet, but I'm buying a second set of wheels to run off-road tires and I know it will bug me to see the TPMS light on.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Hawaii safety inspect is automatic failure for TPS light. Engine light can be on but no TPS light. In my last Taco I used the pressurized canister behind the back seat, didn't matter what rims I put on. When I sold the truck I used a paint pen to say capsule must remain with truck and wrote TPS on it.

Engine light is an automatic fail for inspection here in RI. TPMS doesn't show up in the inspection report, but might still fail if seen on the cluster.

I love how each state can screw you at their own will.

In RI, failing inspection means no sticker. In MA, they actually put a rejection sticker on instead. Both states are now using cameras so stations can't let anyone slide by anymore.

Hawaii they take pictures of odometer and rear end with license plate on there Ipads to make it more legit, but failing is no sticker. If you buy a new vehicle off the lot they come with a two year sticker, I wish we could pay extra and get two year instead of one year. Would make things so much easier.

Inspection here is every two years. No sticker needed for first two years or 24k miles.

I did this mod a couple of weeks ago. Figured I would give it a try, because it only took a few minutes. As expected, this did not work on my 2014 sport. It had no effect on cruise control though, as someone complained earlier. @Mach375 it would be a good idea to edit the title of this thread to save people some research time.
