Magnuson has said it will be out later in the year. There probably won't be any specific updates for a while no matter how much people bug them.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was really just a 2nd gen or he was abducted by aliens. Anal probing really fucks a person up.

I know that there isn't any talk about price, but what is a best guess? I am guessing in the 2-3k range, would that be somewhat accurate? I cannot wait either way

Interesting, so you think more of the 4-6k range? I'm not hip to the hop on supercharger pricing for most applications so I was merely guessing.

T4R pricing is up there, safe bet the Tacoma will be close.

Their 2nd gen supercharger is about $5k and I think the T4R is closer to $6k, so I'd expect the 3rd gen to be at least that.

This would be great.. very interested. Curious if the clutch in the manual tacos would hold up.

Based on what I’ve seen from the T4R.org thread - the 4Runner crowd is looking at high $5k (almost $6k) for just the parts. You’ll spend another decent chunk of change on install unless you do it yourself.

Keep in mind it makes sense to do other maintenance items when you’re doing that sort of thing to an engine with more miles. That only adds to the cost.

Were there significant gains on the 4Runner?

    Not enough to list
6k can buy a whole lot of other goodies for my truck. Think if I have 6k in the bank and was bored, I guess I'd buy one.

I had the TRD supercharger in my '09 ACMT. No issues at all with the clutch if you use it properly.

Magnuson claims 30% power and 27% torque. Once they are actually on the street (beyond this large scale beta test that they just ran), we would probably see real, independent numbers.

I recall looking into this for my FJ about 7 years ago. HP gains were a little more modest, cost was around $5k. But I also recall the recommended life cycle of the belt being about 5k miles, to the tune of $300 or so. As a daily driver, I wasn't looking forward to $1200 a year in belts. I didn't research too much farther to see if alternate belt options were considerably cheaper.

Don’t most SC kits include upgraded injectors? Any idea’s how or which injectors will be upgraded? Hopefully DI injectors don’t drive the cost up too much.

Since he has worked for Southeast Toyota for the last 30 years as a master mechanic I am pretty sure that he knows the difference between a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen. He also worked for his father's racing team part time on the weekends for 10 years and is very familiar with performance mods. I have personally known his father for the last 27 years and he comes from a great family so I have no reason to doubt what he told me.
