My 22.5’ monohull. This angle makes it not look as big, the boat dwarfs the truck. Total length is about 27’. Over the weight limit? You bet! By about 700 lbs lol (boat is about 3400 loaded plus trailer) Luckily the lake is only 30 miles away, with very little elevation change, and about 45 to 50mph or less the whole way. Putting in a brake controller, big aux trans cooler, and 5.29s this summer ( more for wheeling but it’ll help). I also have Chevy 63 springs so it handles the weight better

95 inches wide, almost 12 feet tall in the back. The heaviest I've towed it so far is about 4600-4800 pounds with 4 people in the truck. Towed an easy highway and got about 10mpg. The 8 to 10 is on the route to my in laws area where there are 2 hills that require second gear for about half a mile each. They are killers. 62 North from Banning Pass.

I know. Those numbers are great.

Dune Sport. They only do custom builds. This is 14 foot box at 8 feet inner width. When you only pay for the options you want, it costs about the same as a prebuilt trailer from a large manufacturer. Toy haulers for Tacomas are hard to find. Large manufacturers like Carson charge a lot for them

12' tall, that must be white knuckle city on a windy day on a 2-lane road with oncoming truck traffic, eeeeek!

I've driven in winds and had 2 lane road head on trucks shut my driver side mirror. It's not too bad with a friction sway control

As long as it's within your tow limits, driving ability, and pocketbook....

Here is my towing setup now. 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 with 2015 Kodiak Dutchmen 240 BHS. Loaded tow weight typically comes in around 6000 to 6200. I am able to keep about 65 on hwy without pushing it. Up steep hills will back it down to 55. I was averaging about 9 mpg while towing.tacoma.jpg

Nice setup! How did you determine the tow weight? (scale or dry weight plus cargo in trailer)?

I am over estimating based on dry weight and cargo. Dry weight came in at 5049 when I bought the camper. Have yet to go on a scale with this setup.

    Nice set up Sam
    we almost considered fiberglass
My wife likes sleeping in the tent trailer likes the openness. And this has a dry bath. We like to camp down the Big Sur coast some pretty tight campgrounds out there
also the old national forest campgrounds Can be pretty tight to Open the Sierra Nevada mountains

I hear those fiberglass really hold their value.
Sam how long of a drive was it for you
