My opinion is that I used to b very satisfied with MB Quarts but though it has been quite some time since I had some. Can u get them to let u listen to a few different sets and then c what u think? That’s always at least worth a shot. Most places have some type of display to check out.

Its not the nicest pleace a bit no frills.
My concern is hearing it on a wall compared to in the cab may sound different. I thought maybe there was something someone already had installed.

You have tweeters in the dash, so two-way speakers in the front doors will be fine. Both of your choices look good, and their sensitivity ratings mean they should work well with the stock stereo.

Since you'll be tearing everything apart to replace the speakers, it'll be a good time to add some sound deadening to the paper thin metal of the doors. You'll want the doors to thud when you tap on the metal, not ring. This stuff is cheap, and you'll have a bunch left over for future projects. You will need a roller too:

How much of a credit do you have?

I would personally shut off the rears and just run fronts.
You could get a component set and have them replace the stock tweeters and 6x9s up front.

Be sure the salesperson is considering how many watts you are pushing your new speakers with. Speaker sensitivity rating is a good place to start (higher is better, say 92-93 dB @ 1W) for the amount of power the head unit pushes out. Unless you are putting in amp(s) and re-doing your whole set-up, the expensive stuff will disappoint.

I personally would avoid a "component" set (multi-piece with a separate crossover and tweeter) since you already have a tweeter in the dash (that could you also upgrade with plug-and-play subaru tweeters in non-JBL tacos).

Finally, if you are just trying to make the sound a bit better and not get too hung up on competition quality sound, I wouldn't get anything super expensive or worry about 2 vs 3-way speakers, either can work.

Def read through the "$250 sound upgrade" thread to get your bearings on the install...
