    So to sum up...I can do the manual hub conversion using my current ADD diff with it's intermediate shaft as long as I do the hose clamp mod and disconnect the actuator motor. I will of course have to get the locking hubs which I can then install on my current spindles/axles? If this is correct then what is the advantage of the OP changing out the axles and intermediate shaft? Was this to just eliminate the actuator and sliding shaft/gear? Will I still gain the shift on the fly capability(with the hubs locked)? Just trying to wrap my head around this.

    I made a custom gauge cluster that indicates 4HI, 4LO, and N. That's what the three sensors detect. Usually they go to the 4WD computer to prevent the driver from activating the RR DIFF LOCK in 4LO, but I didn't bother hooking the computer up so I made them light up on the dash instead.

    All A/T transmission trucks had the three plugs on the transfer case, only the M/T trucks didn't have it.

    You don't have to hose clamp the shaft. I have ADD w/ manual hubs, and I haven't done it.

    But you disconnected the actuator with it in the 4WD position, right? And I can install the manual hubs on my axles?

    So basically you're leaving everything as is except you're adding the ability to allow the wheels to spin free from the axle until it's locked. Sounds simple. What are the hubs that I get for my 2003? And can you shift on the fly?

    You can convert you ADD spindles using manual hubs and bearings. What hubs do you get? The lockouts? Not sure what you're asking...

    And you would rather get rid of it in order to simplify everything, i.e. no electronics required to engage 4WD?

    Exactly.
    If you don't lock the passenger stub, and the actuator fails only one axle can turn. I have a truetrac so if that happens I'm only 2wd.

    Basically. But you won't have the indicator light. So wiring will be needing to be done.

    But this is all for a j+shift transfer case. If it's pushbutton, I'm guessing more will have to go into it.
