Oh, maybe, but the electric power steering started before that. I've got it on my 2013 and it was typical on everything smaller than the Superduty.

I think I'm ordering an F-150. Was impressed with my conversation with the dealer today. His price wasn't bad on the $49k MSRP truck, but thing is I can build what I want for $46, I think. He said he that he could do the same type of pricing on an order and it's 8-10 weeks.

What options are you getting? I'm jealous, I want to order one but the options I want make it too f-in 'spensive right now.

I think I've only driven an F-250. I liked the ride height.

I want a F150 again mostly for the space and comfort. I do miss that. However since I’m putting about 200 miles a day on the truck right now it doesn’t make sense to buy one just to rack the miles on it

Trustttt me when I say that was honestly one of my biggest pros into actually getting one. I heard the EB 3.5 weren’t getting what they say they are though, no?

Depends. If you can keep them out of boost, they do pretty well. When I picked up my 2013, that was one of the reasons I went with the 5.0 instead. They were actually doing as well, if not better, than the 3.5 EB. If you keep your foot buried in the skinny pedal, they'll do worse than your Tacoma but you'll have an ear to ear grin on your face as you quickly drain that 36 gallon tank and roast through your tires. If you can drive reasonable, you'll do better with the Ferd than the 4.0 Tacomas get, not sure about the new 3.5 Tacoma.

Hmm good to know. Was looking at the 2.7 EB too just because I don’t necessarily need more power but I know nothing about the motors. My last f150 had the 5.4

The 2.7L unloaded actually smokes the 3.5 turbo from 0-60. I test drove one (full cab short bed) and it had no problem breaking loose, it’s actually surprisingly quick.
For me nothing beats that 5.0 rumble for me though. The ecoboosts are great to fill that fuel economy and power/towing segment. But I’m old school and like that V8.

Same here. It cost me like $300 and can take a bunch of abuse. The beauty while it's good at taking abuse, all I'd have to do is put it in a vice to get it off if need be. I probably should get a silicone band for work since I'm on ladders and whatnot, but it doesn't bother me that much and I'm usually quite careful.

Not I. I drove one and didn't hate it, but I can't see myself ever purchasing something that big. It's a good truck and I don't begrudge anyone wanting one, but it's just too big for my needs.

A lot of that is tuning though. They put so much lag and torque limiters on engines these days it makes the pedal feel numb. I was honestly shocked how much a tune woke my truck up. Mine's the 5.0, naturally aspirated so I know the tune didn't really do that much in the way of actually adding power, it's all in the delivery (eliminating the drive-by-wire lag) and rejiggering the transmission mapping.

Yeah they tune everything now for fuel economy and put the lag in there to keep ppl from having issues it seems. When you see how the same engine in different vehicles can be tuned with such different power figures makes you know that there’s a lot of room for tunning
