You have to have it on to select trip A.

    Then shut it completely off.

Push and hold the trip button while you turn on the ignition. Don't start the truck...just the ignition. Not the accessory postion.

It will count down with lines on the odometer. Don't let up until it’s done

How long do I have to hold for to make the lines come?

It's actually ODO and not Trip A in my truck!

Glad you got it figured out. Maybe Toyota switched over to Trip A when they did the front end switch in 2012.

Prep varies per paint and brand. I would suspect a good scrub with a wire brush and maybe a cleaner like acetone would work.

I don't even know how much life I've got left on my brakes. My truck past the annual state safety inspection last October, and I was told that my rear brakes have 65-70% life left. The front brakes were just check off as Good.

@Jamesboy2233 and @ChadsPride think the brake caliper covers are a waste of money, and I'm beginning to agree with them...

    I'm an idiot...

I've had the brake pads replaced twice and the rotors replaced once...

Do the calipers ever get replaced at any point?

It's been so long since my truck's last brake job that I can't remember how much it cost!

Just pads and rotors if they are bad. Some rebuild the calipers is rhe dust boots are cracked.

Yea just pads and rotors if bad. Usually no need to replace calipers unless one starts to stick due to an internal issue but that doesn’t happen very often.

I had just the pads replace the first time. In 2015, the brakes were close to replacement and making this god awful screeching noise. My mechanic passed it for safety inspection, but just days after getting it inspected I got hit by a drunk driver and got the brakes replaced when it went in for bodywork.

Some of you may find it hard to believe that I'm getting a bit annoyed, because all a lot of my friends want to do is drink!

I like going to car shows, building LEGO models, working on my truck, and reading, among other things.

I love beer, perhaps a little too much, but the only times I end up getting totally hammered are special occasions (like my cousin's wedding and my friend's 30th birthday). If you set me loose at a beer festival or an independent brewery, I will try all the samples I can.

My friend is in a band and he gets paid to play at bars, so going to a bar in that case is kinda unavoidable, and I like seeing them play while I enjoy a cold beer.

I also relish the Thursday drinking nights I have with my coworkers from time to time, but those are only once every couple of months.

That said, why do many of my friends like drinking so much?

    I can't answer that question.

But I will tell you this...I love Corona. However, I realized many years ago that waking up with a splitting headache and dried votmit stuck to my face just wasn't fun.

    Moderation is king

Seriously, I've never thrown up. I passed out once after drinking a flight of tequila in rapid succession, but I'm quite good at holding my liquor.

My drinking days are heading off into the sunset though. I just wish my friends would stop drinking like fraternity and sorority members!

I don't mind being the DD, because that usually means everyone who's getting loaded is chipping in for my dinner and buying me all the soda I can drink!

Though, while soda may not impair your ability to drive, it's probably just as bad for you as beer if not worse!

It still amazes me that something as lethal as alcohol is legal. I mean its up there with cigarettes and is a part of our culture but still.
Either way I get where youre coming from. I dont tend to get hang overs so bad if ive been drinking consistantly....which lately has regretably been the case. I get a weird depressed feeling. Which means its time to stop.
Most people I know slowed way down once they hit 30 years old. Not nearly as satisfying as it used to be.
Your friends will eventually grow out of it. Hopefully. Sometimes all it takes is one buddy to change their life style and the rest follow. Maybe take the challenge. See how much better you feel. Ive read somewhere that alcohol can take up to a year to fully clear from your system.
Sorry for the long winded message lol

I have a few friends who get shitfaced every Friday and Saturday night. I also have some friends who don't drink at all. I probably fall somewhere in the middle. I love beer, bourbon and tequila. Not all in the same night though. I will have a drink or two almost every weekend. I will get hammered 5-6 times a year. There is really no in between for me. It's 3 drinks, or too many to count. I got really bad hang overs so it's not the latter as much as it used to be.
