Yeah, but even I had the small clamp come off on the outboard boot after installing it with these pliers. You gotta really squeeze em tight. Thats the reason for the 1/2" drive square holes in the pliers:muscleflexing:

hahahaha always! I have wanted sliders for a while, I was going to go with the AllPro but Mobtowns price is pretty much the same and if we were to do this again I would save shipping and install them in the parking lot. plus if I can score 25% off I would be in heaven! and I have heard AllPro customer service is not the best lol

We do not offer plate bumpers in aluminum and dont have plans to.

    Reasons:
    • Materials are much higher cost
    • Bumper would require thicker materials and more reinforcement
    • Weight savings is minimal (maybe 40 lbs)
    • One hard hit and it is essientially trashed
    • Repairs are expensive
    • Major pain in the butt to fabricate. Welding aluminum takes a lot more heat because of how quickly the heat dissipates through the material out of the weld. It takes a lot longer in labor in regards to physically welding and then metal finishing.
    • Trying to sell them and make the same margins you do on steel is near impossible. The average person won't pay the price increase for the minimal pros of it.

For the cost difference, I wouldn't do it. You'll never feel the difference in your front suspension, you won't notice a fuel mileage difference. If you're worried about weight, upgrade the coil to the next level since there is no cost difference usually from one coil weight to the next. Also, dump the steel cable in the winch and go syntetic rope. Better, safer, lighter.

right on man, thanks for info! I don't see a bumper being purchased any time soon but I like to get myself informed over time to help make a final decision. I would for sure just run synthetic rope based of what I have read. ill be running the 887 coils with 5100's so even with the extra weight of the bumper I would probably be fine, worst case I could throw in some 886's but ill worry about that when the time comes. you do make a good point in terms of repairs, I don't wheel hard or often at this point but shit happens, at least if its a steel bumper and I make an oopsy, getting it fixed or even fixing it myself is a little easier in that aspect.
