I recently bought this Toyota Tacoma 2003 4 cylynder Auto Transmission. I was wondering if it is normal for the temp gague to go up tp 60%. It does not go further. But it concerns me. I was hesitant to buy other trucks with this issue before. But now I have one. I ask this because i have another Toyota Tacoma 2001 with a 2.4L engine. The temp is always at 50%. Could it be the engine size?

Should be right smack in the middle...but that doesn't mean it's overheating, could just be an issue with the gauge itself. Do you have a Scangauge or other kind of diagnostic tool to read what your actual engine operating temperature is?

Not sure what is normal for the 2.7l 4cyl, but for the 3.4l V6 it should be right around 190˚F

My temp gauge is always at the 50% Mark.
2.7 liter. As the above poster stated, it could be something wrong with the gauge itself.
No idea what the temp is supposed to be.
