You must be like me and live and work in the same small area, lol. My 2010 has a mere 56k miles and I could keep this thing forever if well taken care of. My 3 children have me thinking otherwise lately, anytime I turn around and look in the back seat my growing kids make the space look smaller and smaller every day. I keep thinking about selling the taco and looking for a early 2000 Landcruiser. It's very capable off road so I can still go out and play when I want to and there's lots of similar mods that can be done to them like I did with the my current truck.
....Im so torn, because I love this vehicle! :annoyed:

Not gonna lie, now that I'm actually seriously considering it there's a whole lot of creature comforts I'd be gaining that my truck doesn't have so it's becoming more and more temping the more I look at them:facepalm:.... you know those base model problems:rofl:

Haha, I wish....need the money from one to get the other unfortionately. I did consider it but that was thinking much further out. I may put the truck up for sale in the spring hopefully after some personal stuff is finalized. I change my mind on this everyday now so we'll see when we get closer.:D

I had that door won't latch closed issue. Removed the door cards & lubed the heck out of the rods & latches. As the grease worked in it fixed things.
I think it comes down to Ford either doesn't do the research, or they do & the bean counters win the argument. Either way, I got sick of paying to repair poor design.
Frozen door latching, spark plug Helicoil, exhaust manifolds, rotting arches from absorbent fillers, O/D button disintegrating, .....
(but to be fair, Toyota electric locks fail at a high rate because of a stupid little $4 motor - per door & the rotting trunk releases, ..... but they do keep running!)

Yeah, my sweet spot for power is a definitely not the sweet spot for mileage. But if I'm paying attention to mileage it's easy enough to keep it out of the boost. Can't do it as easily when I'm towing the boat, obviously.

It's no slouch with the 3.55's, either. The 3.73's would make for better acceleration and towing, though. I think mine with 3.55's is rated for 7800 or 7500, but I haven't hooked up to anything close to that yet to try it out. I know that it tows my 3000lb boat/trailer/gear combo like it isn't even there, though.

I usually burn about $20-25 in fuel in a given week (Friday to Friday), but I've only got a 15 minute commute. This weekend I drove to Derry NH & back and then to Freeport & back to looking at tractors, so I put on a lot more miles than is typical.

The new F150's don't use that stupid plug design that the 5.4 did. I just did a spark plug change on my 5.0 and it was a breeze.
Did you get the heavy payload option also?

If you don't tow heavy or haul, you might want to rethink the 3:73 gears. The new 10 speed is geared really low, 3:55 with the new 10 speed shares a similar final drive ratio as the old 6 speed did with 3:73 gears. It might end up hurting your unloaded highway MPG.

Is it just rain down there today? Had freezing rain on my way in this morning, 22 degrees outside right now so everything is icing. The rain would hit the lower part of the windshield and then roll to the upper part of the windshield where it would freeze solid

I had the door TSB done, which is the greasing you are talking about, it worked for a little then broke again, and having that done disqualifies you for the recall, which doesn't have parts available anywhere in North America...for a problem 3 years old. I can always order a new toyota window lock and get it quickly.

Yup, just rain for us. Supposed to be a high of 52 for us.

I should probably take out my Weathertech floor mats and leave them out in the rain, to get washed.

Yeah, I think these trucks were 7600 lb with 3.55s, 8100 with 3.73s, 9000 with 3.73s and HD Payload.

I'm going to ask about that. It won't let me build one with HD Payload without losing 302a and all that stuff. The dealer guy said he can sometimes build configurations that the online thing won't let you build.

I do tow and haul occasionally, plus my commute is up over two mountains so I don't think the 3.73s will hurt much there. Mainly, I want the little bit of extra wiggle room on the tow rating.

I haven't ordered yet. Dealer guy said we should try to place the order so it'll show up in April, that way the next wave of incentives show up and I have the option to go with them if they're better.

    Morning y'all!

Went to the dealership yesterday to get my horn fixed. They fixed it, so now I can properly express my feelings. Apparently the clock spring had worn out so I paid $334 for a "Spiral Cable Assembly", with $250 in labor of course.

It only cost me 5 hours of waiting and $600!

So I know in an automatic, cruise control will downshift when going downhill to maintain speed, I'm assuming a manual can't do that? So all cruise control does in your case is control the throttle?

Wasn't the clock spring assembly part of the air bag recall a while back?
