Point of no return

Rear Wheelers AAL and 5125’s in (they were a bend the mounting bracket ALOT pain in the butt!)

Now for OME 887 with 5100 and UCA up front.

So far so good. No discernible ride difference from my perspective with AAL. Feels like a ‘74 Nova for the past few days with 4” rake.

Did develop a very minor driveline shudder at 10-15 mph after rear lift.

 

Are you 4 Wheel Drive? The shudder could be the carrier bearing, also could be the needle bearing issue.

 

I think it’s carrier bearing. Wasn’t there before. Only had rear lifted when I felt it. One strut built. Not gonna lie....compressing that spring tightened up the sphincter a bit.

 

I have the 887's on 5100's up front with JBA Standard High Caster UCA's, and in the back I have an ICON 3 Leaf Progressive AAL with ICON 2.0 rear shocks. Love the ride, it's smooth like a Caddy.

 

set at .85 or 1.75??

 

887's are put at 0 the bottom clip

 

5100’s set to 0. One side down. One to go!

 

Did you get the lean spacer for the other side?

 

Might try this on the other side....
Not my video, but I've used this method a lot of times. Never let me down yet, seems a lot safer to me vs the threaded rod spring compressors.

Idk man... I’ve never tried that method. I’ve done the spring compressors once...

Now I just pay a shop $80 to swap springs

 

I can swap springs in the time it takes most guys just to pull the coilover assembly out. It's super quick, and not sketchy like the threaded compressor. Maybe if there was a hydraulic compressor handy i'd use it instead, but for those without specialty tools or the truck being their only means of transportation the method linked works very well.

All done! Super pumped with how it turned out. She needs a bath. We just had a small blizzard here in North Cacky Lacky.

Went pretty well. Had to pull the drivers UCA, as I realized when doing the passenger side that I put the washers in back asswqrds.

I also have used this method and I agree is more safer than that spring clamps.

I was half way through, which meant there was no way I was going back to stock.
