It's surprisingly good, really. I'm averaging 19 on this tank, and that's with winter blend gas, 6 ply Wrangler AT's, and using the remote start in the mornings and evenings for 5-10 minutes before I leave.

    That's fantastic!

I average 18-19 summer, 16-17 winter with my Tacoma. Highway in the summer is usually no better than 21. Regular gas too, right?

My Tacoma hates 87, it pings and acts lethargic on it so that's a savings in itself.

Yeah, regular gas. The owner's manual says it's tuned for regular, so that's what I feed it. If I was towing something close to the max capacity I'd probably use premium, but just towing my boat there's no pinging/knocking issues with regular fuel.

I always try to save money. I do all my own maintenance/ repairs/ mods(except when I need Rob to bail me out with his super special cordless impact cause mine suck) . But most don't have access to a lathe/ press. Buying pre-assembled saves a lot of money and makes r&r super easy with hubs. Sure you could save a few bucks doing it yourself like that, but I also try to factor in my time to do something as well. Id rather pay a few bucks more which is still saving a ton of $$$ compared to taking it somewhere to get replaced even if I had the tools as that's just extra time I don't have to be dicking around with fabbing up adapters/ pressing shit together.

I did a quick search and the best I was was 84 bucks, but Rob might be able to find something better, not sure.

I don't press mine either, I could if I wanted to. I know Jason has access to a lathe, but like he said, no material to use. I can either pay my buddy $20 a side, or bring them to carquest and pay $40 a side to have them pressed for me, which including new seals is cheaper than buying pre-assembled ones. But like everything else in this world, there is more than one correct way of doing something.

I browsed for these for shits and giggles and I couldn't find one in my area nice enough to consider. I probably wouldn't pull the trigger anyway cause I like having a truck, but the thought of a capable and comfortable v8 off-roader in my budget sounds pretty sweet.

I looked into doing it myself.. time wise it wouldn't be worth it. I have access to the press and grinder but the problem is having to press it out at my day job - clean up the mess the bearings make (FOD controlled machine shop) and then take it to the shop to cut the flange off and then break the inner race off. Then clean it up, grease the seals then bring it back to my day job to press them together and try not to get caught using a non-MSDS lubricant into the facility. Including the money to buy the bearing splitter... I'll gladly pay 175$ for a completely new assembly haha
