    Question for the knowledge base:

How to determine WHICH bearing is out or going out on Drivers front on 03 4x4?
Spindle bearing - jack up front, grab 12 and 6 and pivot up/down = spindle bearing trashed.
Driver side diff bearing (aka EGCS bearing) - ???

    Why am I asking?
    Changed tires - same sound.
Snow run - repetitive squeaking from drivers side front.
Passenger side Spindle bearing replaced last year.
Rack, LBJ, Inner/outer tie rods, Camburgs, 5100's, OEM axle, LCA bushings = all replaced in 0-2yrs.

Front end almost completely replaced with the exception of:
    Driver side spindle bearing
    Front diff (ARB)

    is it howling? Speed dependant?

If you have a lot of miles, my guess would be wheel bearings.

    Like?

Totally different bell housing. Different gear ratios.

    R is stronger overall.

Doing a writeup on my 4wd conversion and just going over the different choices of transmissions. Is the difference between the two like the A43D vs. A340E?

Well...yes they are very different. You can't bolt a w59 to a v6 and you cant bolt an r150f to a 3rz. Not without some aftermarket parts.

Basically if you have a V6, look for an r150f with tcase

    if your a 4 banger, look for a w59.

Ah that makes a lot of sense, I was wondering why I only saw W59's in 5-lugs and 6-lugs, bit never an R150F in a 5-lug.

The s-runner is the 2nd gen x-runner equivalent, right?
