Gee... wish someone would hook me up on the Cb Rail mount like he did for keith so I can mount mine.. guess I will have to Engineer something myself.

I got a CB, and have used it once with Jason M1701 or whatever.. it worked great! Will get mine perminetely mounted so I can use it at the TW meets. So.. keep yours in your truck or you are just adding to the number of people without one.

 

I'm sorry Sam...... I am way behind on several similar projects, You have officially made it to my short list! Do you have a regular antenna mount? I need to modify it & make another piece to make it work like Keith's.

Mine is never coming out of the truck again...once I show you how I have it mounted you will see that it is pretty damn permanent! I won't be with out it.

 

Jason kind of sold me on the standard FM mount anyhow.. he is going to replace his with a "Wilson" skinny whip and use it for FM radio, and CB and such.. sounds pretty sweet although I haven't seen or heard from him in like a month. Will get you the antenna bracket this weekend.

Well I have been bust as hell at work lately & haven't had much time to do anything on the 4runner. Been working on mounting my CB & Gauges into the stero slot. This is by no means finished, pretty rough still & nothing is hooked up, just mounted. I have quite a bit of time in fabbing up everything. It is made of 3/32" thick aluminim plate. The gauges are mechanical Summit Racing brand oil pressure & water temp & the CB is a Cobra 25LTD Clasic. Hopefully I will be able to get it all wired up byefore BVORR this weekend so that I can get the CB tuned. I plan on painting the aluminum flat black before the final assembly. I know that some of you are going to ask where the stereo is going to go, but don't wory I have that covered too.

I just realized that I am missing something to hook it up. I need an antenna mount. I was just sitting here thinking about how I was going to hook the coax up to the antenna when it dawned on me that it was part of the mount. Do you think that Radio shack would have one?

there is a place in bryan that has all the cb stuff i just left there i ordered a red firestik and they had the mount there its off texas over by taco bell and whatabuger

I took the 4runner to BVORR this weekend & it was a real eye opener. Had nothing but problems. It ran great, but I broke my steering linkage idler arm, bent the bumper up under the truck & had to remove it, had transmission problems the whole day. Trans was fine on flat ground or minor climbs, but the hills out there are so steep that I think all of the fluid runs to the back of the trans & then all function stops untill I get back to level ground. I NEED A LOCKER!! Gonna have to rename the creampuff the candyass if something doesn't give.
