    The NFL recently ruled that the Oakland Raiders complied with the Rooney Rule ahead of the official announcement that Jon Gruden was to be their next head coach.

    That ruling was met with plenty of eye-rolls, and rightfully so. There were reports that Gruden and owner Mark Davis had an understanding he’d be the guy well before the Raiders interviewed USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin and Raiders tight end coach Bobby Johnson.

    Whatever your opinion on the Rooney Rule, it seems clear that Oakland at the very least only had the interviews with those two minority coaches with a nod, nod, wink, wink mentality, knowing it was a sham.

    Now we’re hearing some interesting scuttlebutt on this topic from Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, who says he’s hearing the league went easy on Oakland because it wants the Raiders to sign Colin Kaepernick — I scratch your back, you scratch my back. At the center of it is the league’s desire for the collusion case being pursued by Kaepernick against the owners to go away.

    According to the tweets after last year's Superbowl, the Patriots are the team of white supremacy, so maybe he'll fix that. :notsure:


    I would be. I'd like to see a Pats blowout (it'd be nice to watch a Patriots game this season that didn't have me on the edge of my seat the whole time, haha!), but for the interest of entertainment I would be fine with a back-and-forth resulting in an eventual New England win.

    Trouble is, the Eagles are a good team who are going into this game hot from steamrolling the Vikings, playing for the chance to win their first Superbowl, with the entire country South or West of Connecticut rooting for them. So I think they'll come out and play the first few series with some serious adrenaline and may put the first points on the board.
    But, if they're not careful they can wear themselves out like Atlanta did last year and be gassed by the 4th quarter, which means Brady & co could pick them apart. You see it happen all the time against the Pats.
