I am getting the ORI shocks pumped up this Tuesday. Finding a shop that has the equipment was difficult. One of the mechanics technicians happened to have personal equipment needed to fill them and he agreed to bring it to the shop.

If he can't do it I'll just source a nitrogen tank. Should have plenty of time to do that now that the gov shut down.

those things might be do for a rebuild honesty. As in replacing seals in them and the oil.

I took advantage of my required day off of work yesterday and smoked some ribs, sanded down my craft table, and chopped some firewood.

Let's hope come Feb 8th they have things figured out...or maybe I should start buying meat when it's on sale .

The dogs are doing great. Ash seems to be as happy, goofy and as lovable as before we inherited the new pups.

We are going to talk to a realtor about two houses I have been keeping my eye on for awhile.

Ones a 2 bedroom, 1 bath with a big fenced yard, large gravel driveway and a detached heated shop (it's small and I haven't seen a garage door in the pics or driving by...haven't seen one side of it though). Asking price is 90k.

The others a 3 bedroom 2 bath recently remodel (nothing fancy, but nice) with a detached shop. Smaller yard but more space to work on the vehicles. Asking price is 105k.

Hoping for more options to pop up closer to when we will purchase (likely May). A lot of people only list their houses in the summer here.

Get ready for a rollercoaster. I'd also suggest looking at houses when it's raining or the day after a heavy rain to make sure the roof and foundation are in good shape and drainage is good around the house. Don't be afraid to spend more time and money up-front to get features and layouts you want. You can always swap out equipment later or paint etc. Even building a shop or garage can be done later... but yards don't get bigger. GL

We are about to list ours or something :notsure::annoyed: there are still a handful of projects not complete.

Great suggestions with the rain. Never thought of that and I'll keep an eye on that.

I am being picky on the house. The demand for rentals is extremely high here so my goal is to buy a "starter" home that can be a good rental in a few years. It's a buyers market so I don't want to get stuck with a high mortgage if we choose to relocate. I would only be willing to pay more for a house with some acreage. Those can sell pretty quick around here if priced right.

Good points, you have to protect yourself from housing price wars and be decisive in what you want and are willing to pay for it within reason.
I made the water/freezing/drainage mistake on my first house and spent 3 years adjusting the drainage so that my front yard was not the city's drainage culvert. I will never again buy a home or look at it if the ground is frozen or there is a drought.

They are super cheap. It's funny because the locals think everything is over priced. Coming from Laramie...this is a dream.

:gossip: Its all about the market demands. I have seen garbage heaps of ramshackle homes go for $500,000. I've also seen homes that are really quite nice go for under $200,000. I'd love to pick up my current home and move it into another market. 10 blocks away from where I currently live my house would sell for double or triple.

Houses like that would easily be $800,000+ here. That's awesome for you. Maybe I should move

Trust me, no one is selling these houses for $800,000 . The city lot may be worth $700,000 though.

Wyoming came to visit Idaho today. Nice and windy this morning. Like the kinda wind that keeps you locked in the truck and when you manage to push the door open it swings back and spills your coffee.

Got my shocks pumped up yesterday. The mechanic thought the passenger side had a leak because it had no pressure in the upper chamber. We both expected me to hop in my truck this morning and be back where it was. So far they have held up great. I'll for sure be going back to him for future work. He knew exactly what to put in the lower and uppers without me telling him. Pretty sure he drives the awesome yota I see outside the shop.

If it goes flat I'll probably order some new shocks, swap out the ORI's and send them in to be rebuilt. Once rebuilt I'll sell them on here. If anyone is interested stay tuned.

Started my weekend right. Took the dogs to run, got a pork butt on the smoker, and finished my first beer before noon.

Front bumper? Apparently my paint job didn't like me driving to work in the rain for a week. I'll be getting around to that when we start getting some warmer days.
