What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I have a hole in my roof already, but wouldn't mind putting a second antenna up there. The hole in the roof is really secure - the antenna would have to pull a 1" disc through a 3/8" hole...and that seems like it might be harder than pulling out a couple screws that hold in the brake light. But I say might because I haven't actually looked into how that's attached.

 

If you had a 95-97 you wouldn't even want to bother cause taking out the headliner to remove the light housing is a nightmare and a half with the faux leather. Actually putting any holes in the roof on a early 1st Gen blows.

I’m going to be throwing some 2.0s in the rear in the next couple weeks. How you liking them? Noticeable in the rear?

 

Got the first cut on the plasma table done. Still some fine tuning to do but I can smell the bumpers already!

Its not really that bad from the experience I had with my 99, but I just took it apart enough to get to get a ratchet in there.

 

The early headliner is vinyl and glued on AR the edges and tucked under places you can't get too. Sucks

 

A sad, sad day folks. Have to put the Tacoma up for sale (what I did today).

I would go on a rant but.... I think I'll just pour another drink instead.

 

It's a pain in the dick with the pleather 95-97 one, if you don't want to damage it you have to remove the rear window and use a heat gun to loosen the resin garbage that holds the sides up.

 

My rock sliders saved my truck after a sentra backed up into it today... RIP sentra bumper.

Also, flushed the clutch fluid out this weekend. Did about 1000 clutch burpees between loosening and tightening the bleed screw and pushing the pedal.

 

I’ll be swapping in some 4.88’s this weekend

Has anybody got any tips for setting up the gears in the clamshell? I hear it’s a PITA

Right, even with that little bracket you still have to get back there to run the wires, if I remember right.

I just got them put on today. Tomorrow I’ll be driving to New Orleans from Dallas so I’ll have a little bit more feel for them during and after the trip but from the drive home from 4WD it was noticeably better than what I had.
