Thanks for that link! I just happened to be looking at his build earlier today for some reason. Didn't see that bit though. My first step is going to be to compare with Mike @Digiratus before I do anything - I think my biggest problem is not at the top of each flare, but at the very bottom - where the dirt is obviously flung up off of the road. That's a tough place for any flare (esp. flap-less in the front) since the body (and thus flare) curves in at that point.

The jungle ones as well would be wider. think they are over an inch wider than 01-04 flares..

Yeah i never did custom plates in Wyo because even though you get up to 5 numbers on the plates...you only get 4 letters for custom stuff Hoping i can do 6 here. Get custom plates for them all haha

 

She’d be even more pissed if you took her and over-terrained her because you forget how hard it is when you first start and think she’ll be fine lol. Teaching your significant other is really hard. It’s hard to be critical to someone in that kind of relationship. So best way is get a good friend that knows how to teach well, or take her to a cheap resort that offers cheap lessons and send her on her way lol

 

Im planning on doing the latter haha she can get her own lesson's from someone that is good at teaching. Im not touching that with a 10' pole. She doesn't like listening to me much as it is anyways I know she would like it though. Have thought about doing a lesson with her too to get back on skis instead of a board.

 

Haha that would be fun! Both sucking at something together. That’s a bonding experience for sure!

My gf and I both enjoy being taught and listen and take criticism very very well. Still feels weird and I have to check to make sure I’m not going overboard some times but I certainly couldn’t do that with many people. Certainly no other relationship thus far

Ya, not letting pride get in the way is really important. I told her about the stuff I have lined up for the truck, and she’s like heck ya I wanna build stuff with you. At first I was psyched!! Then thought about it, garage time is like of like sanctuary solitude time. To get in the zone and be hands on. Will see what it’s like working with Somone else.


Here they are building a sled for they yurt trip they’re on (room mate, gf and other friend). After drilling 4 holes in some pvc pipe and the sled our friend was like “this is fun, I want to build things” haha

 

Yeah i like doing stuff a lone too. But having another pair of hands is handy for truck stuff.

I do soldering by myself for audio gear. Very zen like.

 

Totally! It can be complicated, lots of spaghetti wires all over place. Have to be focused! I just blast music move around the garage like I’ve got a vengeance haha

 

I mean when you stuff the circuit boards you need to be awake and know whats going where haha but after that. Its just soldering the stuff in. Like welding. You spend a lot of time prepping, measuring, lining up. Tac it. Then you get to lay beads. Love it.

 

i was just interpreting the "Me" coming from Mike as what he'd call it if it was his, given that he's got the "big red truck," and highlighted "little red truck" from my post. You're of course welcome to call it whatever you please. I like minitaco.

lol no. I have zero mods planned right now. Just need it to run good and it does. Mods won't come for a while.

 

I will make one eventually, but it will be all done before I do. Internet doesn't need another failed project thread that just ends with "hey did you ever finish this?"
