I was largely joking with that post because only a fool would hit that stone that hard.

I am of the "as slow as possible but as fast as necessary" school. With the exception of a big loose dirt hill. Bombing up one of those is just plain fun and not too hard on the truck either.

DAMN IT! my dads third wedding is on the 10th. Im guessing no one would wanna change the dates. FML. Alright, maybe I could just head up right after the wedding or something...

Lol, if I were like most guys who hate there dads and blame them for everything then I would skip it but we are really cool. Though taken off a little early and high tailing it up north may work. Maybe you gents could have a little bit of a delayed stay somewhere? Im gonna check the distance right now.

 

well the 10th is just gonna be wheelin in farmington then head to co to find a place to camp for the night, so i bet you will be fine maybe just miss out on the farmington run at the worst right?

thats true, the mountains would be the really awesome part too. I was just kiddin bout the dad thing lol. Ya, it was supposed to be a tiny wedding but the wife to be talked a little so now its bigger and he needs people to come so I am going for sure! Good thing is that it is early in the morning so I could get up there alright time wise. May have texasislandboy riding with me too. Ill figure it all out though, I have plenty of time !

 

Yeah, there's some pictures at the link of Chokecherry. Again, we were mainly just playing around on random obstacles. Of course, as always, the shit looks easy in the pictures. Jace has a 50ft cliff about 3 feet away from his driver's door in the pic where I was holding down his tail end. A couple of the pics have backgrounds that show the area. lotsoftoys (Jace) is a cool guy. He's got a nice truck too. He just finished the Toyota mechanic program at the local college. The other guys were all in auto too but I think some of them did the GM and Chrysler programs.

This has been a quiet thread lately. I know we have a couple of months left, but I am super excited. With any luck, I am about to win $1000 in a contest we are doing at work. I already have plans to get some goodies for the truck, in preperation for this trip. A few of the things include: sliders, cb and equipment, new speakers, hi-lift, more recovery gear, mods for better mpg, a matching spare, and so on. Gonna squeeze all I can out of that money.

 

Don't worry, this thread will drum back up as the time gets closer. I'm getting up around the max number of people I want anyway so quiet isn't such a bad thing. A few of the guys are college students and busy wrapping up end of the year stuff too.

Good luck with the $1000. It sounds like you're planning on making some practical off roading upgrades.

I blew my diff. No worries though, it was fixed under warranty. I did it right here in town. I went up a crazy obstacle. There was a bypass that, in retrospect, I should have taken.
