Can I re connect the socket easier that way?

 

Looks like there is a tab on the side. Shouldn't I pull from there?

ya no idea wtf.... my lens snapped off from the housing. That guy must of done something else first or had another guy that worked the housing forward from underneath

 

Yikes!

I didn't do anything other than stick the flathead in and pry it out. You have to be sure that you stick in the far enough so it gets behind the socket housing (and not just the lens I guess). I did kind of wiggle it a little before it gave and popped out, if that helps.

you didnt twist the housing or anything from underneath?

Ya the tape has to be pushed up around the sides so no longer than the diameter and after you get it stuck to the sides and the front the tape can be twisted then they pop out,for me at least.

 

I would have taken out the housing but didn’t want to damage it like I damaged my license plate light housing haha,but that looks even easier

 

I have these,like them enough I got another pair for high beams or maybe fogs if I don’t get a deal on some Baja design amber squadrons

 

You have the Hikari Phillips TOP LED, not the Cree TOP LED?

Ya like it broke off in one piece from the housing part. I'm fine just put a small ring if silicone around it and stick it back

 

I have two sets of the cree ones,ones currently in the low beams and the others havnt been installed,I might order the newer ones and compare them

 

Wait, I have to go back and look at that picture. I was hoping this was easier. Well I'm glad you worked it out.

 

So I just put the H11 hikari led bulbs in my high beams and they seem to work fine without anything popping up on the screen inside.on the website it said H11(H8,H9) so I’m hoping I won’t have problems with this bulb in the high beam



Drivers side has both high/low beam hikari,passenger side hikari lows and stock highs

The interior led light is pretty bright,maybe too much



Be careful with the license plate lights!i cracked the cover after my bulb fell into the housing I had to remove the entire thing and now I have a nice crack(will replace it eventually)

 

Any comparison between the Aux f16 and Hikari either version? Was gonna grab two sets of the same unless there's a good reason for the mix. Thanks in advance.

 

Comparison here (2nd link below). There is a newer Hikari bulb with Phillips LED instead of Cree LED that I am going to test and compare.

I see someone already posted a 3 star review on the new Hikari leds. Said the fan wasn't working.

Is this uncommon?
