Snow and ice is as expected from a TSL, as in not amazing. The lack of rubber touching pavement on the TSL doesn’t help that. But, in North MS, not a lot of snow/ice. Mostly mud here, especially during hunting season. Theses SSR’s do better in snow/ice than my old LTB’s, maybe from the siping? And this is the only pic I have as of now 97724C21-19BE-4F0A-A657-F94477DE0AB4.jpg

Thats interesting. In the deep shit we wheel in up here LTBs are arguably unbeatable. The same characteristics that make that trxus so good too.

My 34x10.50 LTB’s were incredible in deep mud/rocks. But on pavement, the SSR’s seem to handle the wet/icy/snowy pavement better. Haven’t had much time off-road in snow though, so can’t really speak honestly on performance there

Yeah, the on road snow stuff would definitely be different.

Did any of you guys run the 34x9.5 Ltb?

Jim is that your 1st or 2nd set. If i remember right you travel with a decent amount of cargo, whats the pnw life span of your tires.

My first set. I do carry a lot, but the actual weight is pretty low. I'd guess a total under 300lbs spread out between the back seat and the bed.

    I'm 20k in and at about 50%

The only LTB I’ve run is the 34x10.50. Great tire though. Wore well and wasn’t loud, for a bias ply anyway. Also, the Q78 TSL is a skinny/tall tire that performs great off-road too.

I have a set of 33 9.5 16 sx2 swampers but they are not road friendly, i use them almost solely for mud drags. I havent used them in snow so can't comment on that, they have a little more siping so may not be too bad with the right balance of weight in the back. They are loud, heavy, stiff,(load e or d i believe) hard to balance, get flatspots overnite, and knock my mileage down ALOT! But them sumbitches dig like they are supposed to. For weekend warior use they rock.

Anyone have 255/80/17 Too Open Country A/T on a Tacoma with a 3 inch lift? I'm in the market of getting new tires and seeing these make me want to get skinny tires but I want to see how they look with a lifted Tacoma.

Looks great. I love the old takeoffs you have. If I didn't have a garage full of wheels already, I'd pay you a visit.

8.5 to 10 sticks in my head, but don't quote me. That's on the spec sheet for each tire though, so easy research.

TRD sema wheels are 17x7 wide - FN replica wheel is 17 x 8 - that tire in ST Maxx is listed as OK to install on wheels up to 8.5 wide max.
