Don't get suckered in to paying someone to apply for you. It's free and easy.

Or just use the work labeler and put your HAM ID onto something you can see. Heck we did that for tail numbers flying, there were 8 Apaches in a company and hard to remember which one you are actually in talking to civilian control towers, we use our call signs talking to each other.

I wrote mine on the face of my radio with a sharpie but it rubbed off pretty quick. Label might stick for longer.

I just don’t think my callsign particularly rolls off the tongue. The suffix MQO isn’t as smooth and easy to say as a lot of other combos out there that may also have some significance to me rather than just a random string of three letters.

None of them are great when you pronounce them phonetically, I’ll give you that, but I rarely spell mine out unless the connection is bad and someone asks me to for clarity.

Interesting, it's the only way I have heard it done thus why I followed suit.

I usually give my call sign phonetically, just habit because I still have my sequential Extra call and 'A' and 'K' sound close (easily the most common mistake I get is KC0VH). The rest of my call I like fine, 'C' is close to a 'Z' or 'V' I guess but 'H' is a distinct sound.

I've been listening to the repeater at times and I have not heard much usage of the phonetic call sign identification. Is it common? I don't have it fully in memory yet.

What are good 2m and 70cm frequencies to listen in on? Southwest Littleton

I've always used the phonetic alphabet. Long before I used HAM.
It always cracks me up when people substitute random words because they don't know it.
    b c d e g p t v z all sound the same to me over the phone or radio.

A small handful of select mods.
The last chatter I listened to was all spelled call signs. None phonetically. Great now I have to commit that to memory too.

That was probably the repeater itself identifying. I think it’s call is W0CRA but I’m not 100% sure on that.

There will be Morse code and then a voice saying "W0CRA repeater" It's part of the Colorado repeater association. Google that to learn more.
The other popular one (linked statewide) is the Colorado connection.
