Ran over a spray paint can, need input

A while back I accidentally ran over a spray paint can (at night). Needless to say it exploded and brown paint got all over the frame and a little got on the paintwork. I'm not worried about the paintwork since it's not that pretty to begin with. But part of the frame looks permanently "mudded" now.. Does anybody know if paint thinner or laquer thinner is safe for the frame? Not sure how it would hold up with the frame being black and all, thanks.

 

Could you just spray the brown over with black?

 

Just paint over it with black, problem solved.

Paint thinner etc... won’t do anything to your frame, besides possibly take some paint off - which is what you want to do anyway. But if you’ve waited until it dried, you’ll have a harder time getting it off. Best bet is to just paint over it...

 

Or just drive over a black can next.

 

Paint it black... oil coat it!

Another option is to paint the rest brown!!

Just why does it bother you at all on the frame and not on the body ??

You can use gasoline to remove this problem, I live where cars even get tagged on!, and gas followed by a carnuba wax will take it off and not eat the paint. If all else fails get you some black spray paint, like every one suggests. Jeez I would be pissed, that really sucks.

Better to have brown on the frame than 2 gallons of blue timber marking paint turn over and open in the bed..... mine had this happen when the truck was almost new..... lol I still find blue on certain places in my bed.

 

Going to try this and paint thinner tomorrow.

The body is so tattered as it is, per the previous owners. Somewhere down the line I'm going to get bodywork and a cheap respray done on it.

 

Oh man been there!! I hung my Nelson paint gun from the passenger dash grab bar on my old Silverado. Hit a patch of rough road, it swung and dropped, dumping blue paint all over the inside of my truck!!
