;):)Light dusting of snow and icy roads here 17 degrees.

If it was not for global warming we could freeze here.

It's damn cold here too! Got down to 10 degrees this morning at my place .... that's REAL cold for Central/South Texas. Better warm up soon !! Glad my pipes at the well are insulated.

About 6 inches of snow here yesterday. Was flying back from Detroit to northeast PA, flight was cancelled. Got on a flight to Allentown and rented a car. We drove back over the mountains through the snow - turned in the rental, went to get my car...flat tire. Called AAA, 220 minute wait so I changed it myself - put on the donut. Drove the rest of the way home through the snow - we live on a dirt road with an uphill curving drive. Couldn't pull the hill with the donut on the left front, tried to back down in the dark, caught an edge and ended up stuck on the side of our driveway. Walked over to the bar to get out the new UTV to plow...forgot I left the key up at the house. Walked back, got the key and walked down to the UTV. Finally got plowed out and was able to shovel enough from behind the tires of the car to get it out and back in the garage. Ended up putting 4 new tires on the car today. On the good news side, the new UTV works great.

Mark, the UTV appears to be the best purchase you have made lately......along with the 4 new tires.

Don't you love it when a plan comes together.

    Go Army strong!

Ken you left at just the wrong time -- it's supposed to be a balmy 50 degrees here today!

I'm heading to my "office" to pick up a new laptop. Not something I ever look forward to, because there is always a metric buttload of hassle involved in getting everything moved over, set up, and conveniently accessible. The icing on the cake is that it will be Windows 10. :frusty:

Finally some measurable snow here, about 3". Pup kicked up his heels when I let him out for breakfast. Bigger storm coming Wednesday night.

    Evening all:
    WHY?
I was reluctant to switch from windows 7, but really don't notice any difference since I did it.
But then again I'm not too great on the contraption either! :)
I don't know if what I had has something to do with it, I had windows 7 ultimate and now have windows 10 pro. :notsure:

    Afternoon all:
Was just reading an article about mining bitcoins :confused::confused::confused:, no me, definitely not smart enough! Heck, I can't even grasp what cyber currency is and how it even works, don't want to know either, show me the cash! :D

Re Win10: It may be possible to ignore most of the annoying stuff. But I still haven't found a way to get "Cortana" off the task bar. *grumble*

Re bitcoin: I read somewhere that the "mining" of a single bitcoin uses enough energy to power a neighborhood for a day.

    Dave,

Dug out some notes from back when I was trying to get rid of Cortana (Microsoft spyware).

    Open Cortana
Click "notebook" in left options pane
    Select "Settings"
Slide "Cortana can give you ...." to OFF

    Good luck

    Morning all:
I recently got "Cortana" off the task bar, and then put it back on, don't remember how I did it though!

I also read about how much electricity is required to mine bitcoins Dave, CRAZY!

Morning Rob, glad you mustered in to say hi, hope the freezers full!

Dave: Right click on the Cortana "type here to search", see if that brings up the pop up to be able to remove it from the task bar.
