I guess I never thought of rolling the back window up in cold temps. I guess it could cause the plastic to Crack. Good to know.

I got to wondering if anyone has used Gear Aids Tenacious Tape on the seams to waterproof them. Seems it would be more durable and waterproof than the Seam Sealer.

I used this to patch holes in my FlipPac tent. It works well on flat surfaces but may be more difficult to conform over a seam. And, it’s not cheap ... over $1 per foot.

 

I was wondering how it would do when folded. They seem to imply it works on tents and clothing. I might get a roll just to play around with on an old tent rain fly and see how it performs.

Can anyone with a Softopper on a 3rd gen do me a favor?

I’d like to know the distance between the top of the bed rail to the lowest point of the interior of the Softopper (probably the Softopper frame)?

I’m deliberating between go with a hard or soft top. I currently have a redneck fab Yakima bar setup across my bed. I’m trying to find out if I could still load my Thule box on the bars underneath the Softopper.

Damn, that makes me think ST sent me a 3rd gen topper. Mine sits lower than alot of the other 2nd gens I've seen. Not that I'm complaining, I love that it sits lower.

 

Quick question for you guys, do any of you take your truck with your topper on through automatic washes?

 

I use the touchless ones only. No issues yet.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've got unlimited monthly washes at a place that's brush-less, except it has the giant blue spaghetti noodles and air dryers that shoot hurricanes to dry it.

May have to hold off on getting one for the time being.​

Correct, the height (dimension in blue).
Top of the truck bed rail to the lowest interior piece of the topper.

 

From the top of the bed rail (not the utility track) to the bottom of the horizontal frame piece on the Softopper is 17" at the center of the bed (red dimension). Due to the curved frame, the height directly above the bed rail is about 16" before contact is made with the Softopper frame (blue dimension).
