1.5" or 2" AAL w/ 5100's at 1.75.

I'm going to purchase some 5100's for my 06 D-cab TRD sport, and have the 5100's at 1.75 with the stock springs. I'm a bit iffy on which AAL to get for the back...the 1.5" or the 2"? My truck has no TSB, and as of right now the back sits about 3/4-1 inch higher than the front which I like. What I need to know is after settling how much do the 1.5" and 2" AAL's actually give? I've also read that some people are getting 2" of lift up front with the 5100's at 1.75?! I just want the truck to sit a bit higher, and have a bit of rake for when I have a load in the back, or haul my trailer with dirt bikes. All opinions are appreciated.

A 2" AAL should give you 2" of lift after settling.

When you first install the AAL - it'll generally give you MORE than 2" of lift. Don't be surprised if you get closer to 3" immediately after you install it.

I'd go with the 2" AAL.

Yeah I'd go withe the 2" AAL as well. Since you like a little bit of rake in the back, might as well play it safe with the 2".

 

That's what I'm thinking, but I also read conflicting things about the 5100's set at 1.75 on the double cab being either more or less than the 1.75 inches over stock height. This lift stuff is very confusing. I know for sure the front 5100's are going at no more than 1.75 because I don't want the headaches of alignments and UCA's etc... but I don't want the back end to end up too high, or too low... Anyone have pics of 5100's set at 1.75 in the front on a double cab with either the 1.5" or 2" AAL without the TSB done?

 

I am thinking about the same thing.. I want to go with 1.75 in the front, but currently (with shell) my truck sits about 1.5" higher in the rear.. Does that mean I should be safe with the 1.5" leaf or should I go with a 1"?
