It's so nice. I've missed welding a lot. Can't wait to add a TIG to the collection.

    Sup guys?

So, debating here. Wife just had our 3rd baby and we need a minivan. I see I have 2 choices. Keep the taco, thats already built for basically anything I plan to throw at it, and buy the wife a low miles used odyssey. Or, I keep my 03 runner, sell the taco, and buy the wife a new Odyssey. And then build the runner as my toy and DD. Wife has agreed to allow me to build the runner (spend the $$) as she knows how much I enjoy wheeling, and fishing, and I recently sold my boat.

So quick thoughts, first round of mods as I see must for wheeling- kings/fox all way round, ucas, sliders, IFS skid, 35s/33s, possible locker and or gears.

Only thing I am on the fence about is its already 15 yrs old. Runs great, I've kept up on all the maint, but age is age. 150k on the clock. And i wouldn't have the flexibility of a truck. Thoughts guys?

Also, where you getting lift stuffs at? Who has the best prices?

edit: the kicker is, my buddy @beertimecontinuum just had me go pick up an o3 runner that he wants the motor out of, all the other stuff is available to me for spares

Your truck is a limited, so it has multimode right? If so you could swap driveshafts with a non multimode to gain a couple inches or a manual driveshaft would even give you a little bit more.

Pretty sure multimode had the shortest driveshaft, then the regular autos, and the manuals were the longest.

    Happy birthday Zach!

How built is the Tacoma? How long have you had the 4Runner?

That V8 powertrain would definitely be nice, and having some spares laying around from the extra one you just picked up. And if you haven't already dumped tons into the Tacoma, saying bye to it may not be the hardest thing in the world.

But why not just keep the 4thgen for her and put a 3rd row in it? It won't have all the new gadgets that the new mini van will come with but I'm guessing it's already paid for and you know you can probably trust it at this point. Plus V8. And what mom doesn't want to tote her kids around in a built 4th gen.

Found this. Not sure how true it may or may not be

And I think manual driveshafts are longer too.

Have you driven a minivan before? That shit is amazing when you have kids. Haha

I’m in the same boat as you @presta24. #3 on the way and I had a Tundra, wife has a RX330. I just sold the Tundra and driving my 99 4runner for now and looking for a minivan for the wife and sequoia or LC100 for myself. As much as I loved my truck and wish I didn’t have to sell it, but it was the best thing to do when they are young.

Ya, the taco is very tight with 2 kids. 3 I doubt is even possible. 100 series sounds like an idea. Hadn't thought about that.....

Not sure I'll mess with swapping anything off the taco. Will likely sell it as is and order king's or Fox resis for the runner

It's time for something for the wife to haul 3 kids around in that I don't have to worry about fixing shit or breaking down. Don't get me wrong, the runner has been stellar. But it's needed alternator, front hubs, all four calipers, yada yada. So when it needs work we are down to my 6spd truck the wife can't drive. Nor fit 3 kids in

Pretty much, you will probably need adjustable rear links too to push the axle back so you don't eat the rear doors.
