Because it doesn't have the chip it will not start is correct. If they will make the key without the chip it should be able to unlock the door so you can get the key that will start your truck.

Yeah a little bit. Mainly in reverse. I’ve done some trimming but not too much. I’m trying to trim a little at a time when I notice it so I don’t trim too much.

 

One piece at a time.

 

Yeah I set it to the highest set point with the stock springs. It leveled the truck nice but it’s riding stiffer. I’m going to put new uppers on to hopefully smooth the ride a bit.

 

New upper's will help with alignment and articulation, but it will still ride just as hard with the shocks set that high. Slap an old man emu 887 spring on the Bilstein and put the bilstein on the lowest setting to improve the ride dramatically.

 

I was riding stiff when the FOX preload was jacked up to clear without rub, to counter that I threw on a set of Maxtracs and backed off a good 60% of the preload now I'm smooth sailing

 

Thanks for the advice! I’ve heard mixed opinions on which OME springs to put. Are the 887 softer than something like the 885s?

 

Sure thing buddy! The 887 and 885s have the same spring rate, but as you can see from the chart below, the 887 will give you a little bit more lift.

Sure thing! I believe the 888s are for third gen tacomas, and the 886 is better if you have a lot of weight up front (bumper, winch, etc) since the spring rate is higher.

 

I'm going billies all the way around w/ 886 coils myself when I get there that is. Hahaha
