Yeah it's depressing seeing all the parts discontinued. I looked on ebay for 90-93 window moldings for you. One guy had them listed individually for $50 each.

Here's my interior and engine bay coming together slowly.

ah thats why it's so nice! lol. i've decided at some point i'm putting leather seats back into my car, add a little bit of the acura luxury back into it. i have the original rears and i located some fronts, but they are in pretty rough shape. probably not this year, but next year i'm gonna get some prices to have them re-done. I'd like to continue the black and tan theme with the seats too.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep all the luxury as you called it. This one isn't going to be a Type-R clone or a gutted racer. Trying to stay GS-R, no red stitching, keeping A/C, cruise control, power steering, leather, etc.
The original leather was shot. The driver seat had a cover on it and underneath looked like a racoon got in a fight with it, completely torn up. Found the fronts on ebay and probably paid too much, f it.

The header looked beat when I received it as well. That was a few months of sporadic refinishing.

yeah i put the power steering back in my car, the a/c needs repaired but it's staying and i need to troubleshoot my cruise control still. That header turned out amazing, what all did you use? I tried to get the same results with my type r manifold but it didnt come out anywhere near that good. I wet sanded and tried to polish the tubes the best i could

50 yd roll of 1" 600 grit, Scotchbrite, experimented with that Yoshimura Stain Magic (Better used for a clean header that has some blueing on it).

...but the real MVP's were drill mounted wire brushes of different shapes and diameters.

    The final finish was scotchbrite.

It's stainless so it should just get some color.

Oh forgot, while I was wire wheeling it was in a tub with some water and CLR. It was total experimenting. The tub of water/CLR mixture was a failed attempt at one of those vibratory cleaners, after watching a few Youtube vids. Figured I'd sit the header in it and let it soak, then went to town with the wire wheels.

Had a 30mm bore brush from an Apache laying around so chucked that up and cleaned the inside of the runners lol. Used it on my Skunk manifold also.

I used to be too when I was a smoker and had a shaved head. Now it just messes up the do lol. Nah I still prefer windows down, but I also prefer being cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

I'd love to do what you're doing with an EF though. I had a '90 Si back in the day with a 91 LS swap before there were mounts when we had to weld the trans mount.
I'd like to gut one of those and K20 it. No A/C, an actual manual rack steering. That'd be fun.

Isn't the Type-R 4-1 mild steel? That needs to be coated with something.

I thought about doing that to mine just because it was the lazy way out, however it would have some heat advantages. Eh, can always do it down the road.

Huh, maybe he's right. I've never had one, so I was just going off the pictures.

Still, with that amount of orange iron oxide rust, it must be a low grade stainless if it is. Who knows where he got his 409 stainless statistic.

i ride motorcycles enough in the summer so im a little used to dealing with the heat anyways. it was cold this morning with no blower motor. heat works though, haha.

i wish i had my original ej1 coupe. could have made that a fun car with some money on the single cam.

de-powering racks actually end up with quicker turn ratios than the manual racks have. thats why i just de-powered mine.
i cant decide if i want to be driving the car in rain. leaning towards a fair weather car at this point.

Quaife makes a quick ratio rack and pinion kit for the EF. 2.83 turns lock to lock.

those quick ratios do make it quicker turn to turn, but physically harder to turn since it requires more mechanical input :notsure: just what i read

I can see that, however I had no problems with my Civic. Just have to be rolling not stationary as you crank it.

    Good work out right?
