Found the perfect steering wheel. 2003 Lexus GS430 wheel AND it has the same one wire airbag trigger that the Tacoma has. Looks like it's even the same connector.

Nope, it did not. But the 1st gen taco airbag trigger on 95-00 isn't a front impact sensor it is purely accelerometer based and the box that controls that is under the stereo on the tranny hump. I figured it would go off, or at least in the rock impact I had. But nah, not sure if mine is broke or what. The later tacos from 01-04 have front impact sensors too that make it a bit more effective.

Pretty sure if you did add this and connected the connectors to our harness that the airbag light would likely be on. I believe these new ones have a totally different way of controlling them compared to us. Plus I don’t think I’ll trust any used airbags from the mid to late 2000s what with the Takata issues...

How much wood would a chipskip skip if a chipskip found some wood (steering wheel)?

I swear it says in the manual it will not work in a rollover.

Huh, I don't have my manual with me, but I'll have to check that tonight.

Well would you look at that, this is from an 03 manual so it would have different deployment setting given it has extra sensors but yeah won't go off in a rollover is probably solid for all years.

Front air bags should not go off in a rollover or side impact. That is why newer vehicles have a much more complex deployment system and things like side curtain airbags. Front air bags are only good for stopping your head going directly into the dash, front or rear impact.

This says they won't even deploy in rear accidents either. Pretty lame system but I'm okay with that considering it is my offroad toy.

It’s similar to a free air setup. There are holes with a resistive membrane cut into the back cab wall. You use the resistive membrane to “tune” the woofers. It takes a specific kind of driver to work well in an Aperiodic Membrane configuration. And they aren’t for bass heads. But they are very musical and have great attack and articulation. 2F984215-ADCA-46EC-8D7B-BD1B356ABFA2.jpg
In this picture you can see the 4” holes in the back wall. These vent to the outside
The sub front and rear wave is completely sealed from one another.

And here’s the baffle installed. It will eventually be carpeted to match as well

Interesting! Thanks for the ideas. Does the membrane seal the back wall of the cab from water getting in?

You just need to tap into the running light wire and run it into the open hole/slot that is in the stock turn signal housing.
