Good question. Diesel not needed to haul kids. Diesel needed for work and also the family's boat/trailer.

I've always liked the OBS Ford, ever since my Dad had one. Since I was looking at 4 door full-size, I was looking at the OBS Ford diesel.

Keep the Taco if you can, then you can take your time to really get what your looking for at a great price and maybe @0% financing. Old new stock on the lot has to go and they want them to go soon. So cheaper for you. On a different note as a hunting truck you can set it up as such and leave it, not worried about running around town with tent and such in the back getting stolen.

Factory AUX input, bypassed and thus rendered useless when first aftermarket head unit was installed in 2013...

I am more of a Chevy guy when it comes to full-size trucks, but I think the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel used in 1994-1997 and 1999-2003 HD Ford pickups is the best ever made!

Also, the 1992-1997 F-series was the only truck in its class at the time to get a 5-star crash test rating!

So it seems the consensus is to keep the Tacoma as long as possible? Even as a second truck?

That's what my gut tells me to do....

And the best part is I didn't even pay for it!

I paid for the first system back in 2013, with my own money. It was a Pioneer single-DIN CD player with Bluetooth and USB, and a Pioneer component speaker system. It cost $240 not including what I paid my friend to install it...

The touch-screen head unit and backup camera were paid for with court-ordered restitution money from an old man who hit my Tacoma with his Mercedes while driving drunk!

    Keep the Tacoma!

    Here's your checklist...

    1. Is the vehicle reliable (stupid question to ask about a Tacoma) and cheap to maintain?

    2. Does the heater work good?

    3. Does the air-conditioner work good?

    4. Does it have a decent stereo?

    5. Is it paid for?

If you answer yes to the first two questions and at least two of the remaining three (especially #5), then you should keep it!

Plus you may get hurt feelings when the dealer low balls you.

Good for you. Dealers sometimes suck to deal with.
