Access cab with child seat in the back, yellow wire mod, diff breather relocated to tail light, engine block heater, Leer topper with Yakima tracks and rack, Yakima rack on cab, Ride Rite air bags with Daystar cradles, CBI hidden front hitch, wired for winch front and rear Warn quick connect, Warn x8000i on external carrier, sway bar delete, trailer plug relocated to under bumper, Pelfreybilt IFS and Mid skids, BAMF Tcase skid, ECGS front diff bushing, ARB CKMA12 compressor, 255/85/16 Backcountry MT 3 load E tires on stock steel rims, Toyo M55 tires (same size) on another set of stock steelies, Up2NoGood heated mirror kit, Husky X-act Contour front floor liners, Northstar AGM 24F battery under the hood, Northstar 27F in the cab, Redarc 25 amp DC to DC charger, Pelfreybilt bolt on sliders with kickout and top plates, TRD Pro headlights, Depo smoked tail lights, Energy suspension body mount bushing kit, OME Dakar leaf packs with AAL, OME rear shocks, OME 90021 front shocks with 885 coils, SPC LR UCAs, Up2NoGood 2wd low range mod, 4 Wheel Campers Grandby slide in camper, 4xinnovations high clearance rear bumper, Uniclutch 800 lb/ft clutch
I tow a lot in the summer for work and play. This mod has been an absolute clutch saver. I find myself using it in relatively easy backup situations just to be able to go slower and to baby my clutch - I've been pretty awful to it for its whole life to this point.

This is one of my top 3 favorite mods, for sure. It might be my favorite.

This explanation brings up a few questions for me. I'm not familiar with the internals of a Tacoma case, never pulls one apart, only extensively done jeep cases, from dana300 and 18's up to all the new process cases. On new wrangler cases, there is physically and mechanically no way to shift the case into low range without engaging 4wd also. That's simply how the internal mechanical parts of the case work. I don't know about the Tacoma cases and I may have misunderstood what you described above, but are we achieving 2lo by engaging 4lo but not engaging that front axle disconnect? This would achieve 2lo simply because nothing can spin in the front diff, but would leave people who have installed an FJ solid tube up front SOL because there is no disconnect to leave disconnected. Or does this system engage the planetaries in the case that give you lo range reduction without engaging the shift collar that brings you 4wd?

I'm asking because I plan to put an FJ Tube in in place of the Tacoma one because that actuator has significantly higher failure rates than the one on the tcase, and having front and back lockers, even if I couldn't engage 4wd, I'd still be able to lock the rear and that has been pretty good for getting me thru most situations without shifting 4wd.

@Up2NoGood, any update on my above question. I'm interested in one but it does me no good if it won't work with an FJ tube installed

Sorry I didn’t see that there were new posts in here. These are sold out, but to answer your question.....

The bolded point is how it is achieved, it blocks out the ADD. Based on your description of the FJ solid tube this system would not work for you unfortunately.

Oh well, seems like a very useful product, just won't work for me then. If my plans change, I'll let you know and reach out for one. Thanks and good luck with the modules.

Sounds like you need to do a manual shift FJ transfer case with twin sticks.

Not to side track the product thread, but no. An FJ tube is a very simple swap, a few hours of work at most, and it eliminates a very problematic actuator, whole job would be 250$ in parts, which I could potentially completely recover by selling just the good actuator I have. The tcase actuator is much much less problematic. You'd have to look for someone who had a problem with one, swapping an FJ case is very invasive, messes up my center console that I like just the way it is, costs me 1000-1500 with no easily sellable parts, and would probably take me a whole weekend to do. I've weighted the options and don't want to do it, I'll stick to my triple stick jeep, don't need a twin stocked Tacoma

I used this feature again last night dealing with a heavy loaded trailer backing up a sloped curvy driveway. 2Lo module makes it so much easier!

A great addition to my truck!!!

What a wonderful mod, from a proven supplier! So long over due! I did the FJ swap years ago, and frankly I would have sold the truck if not for that. I use my truck too much to put up with the problems. The reverse gearing in these trucks is a joke. I wish this had been an option then! It is probably the best $250 you will spend on your truck if you have a manual, and still a great upgrade to an auto

Well actually 100 x modules delivered to my house today. I was planning on waiting until spring to post them because I haven't built 100 mating harnesses for them yet. If you are in a bit of a rush then I could get one ready to go.

I considered it but from what I could tell the mod wasn't overly hard to do as a DIY and figured most people would go that route. Actually I probably won't be working on any new stuff for the foreseeable future. I've been super busy at work for some time now and doing something like this from an idea to finished product takes a ton of time to do.
